crashlanding;
a. ouch
[Yukina boards the ship bound for Wyver, and thinks that it will be fine. The Natha Orbiters seem to know what they're doing. What she's learned of the history of the two countries on the surface is a little frightening, but... surely it can't be that bad, can it?

Turns out that it can.

Swimming is more difficult than she'd imagined, but somehow, she manages. She all but drags herself to land, and once there, she goes still for a few long moments as she tries to catch her breath and get her bearings. It's cold, but it's hot. She's dizzy. Everything smells like smoke... where are they?

She looks down at her hands, and is surprised to find blood. Where did it come from? Is she hurt? Is someone else? Slowly, she brings her hand up to her forehead, and when her fingers come away, they're coated with more blood.

Oh.

She must have hit her head. ...she can heal that quickly, but what if somebody else needs her help more...? She should save her strength for the people who need it most.

Once she's steady, she starts searching for people who may be in need of help. If she finds someone, she kneels down by them.]

Please, let me heal you.

[Alternatively, you can tell her to sit the fuck down and get some medical treatment of her own, because that gash on her forehead is looking pretty bad.]

b. escape from murkwell hollow
[Once they're somewhat patched up and help has arrived from the cities, it's time to go. Yukina does her best to keep up as they make their way through the bog, but it's not easy to tell where is and isn't okay to step, and a ways into it, she feels her foot sinking in alarmingly quickly.]

Ah—!

[Help?

...also don't look at the vulture circling above them. Or do. Because that would make matters worse.]

b. a-sneaking we will go
[It's Wyver she needs to get into, and so when they finally get close enough to the city to really think about how they're going to get in, she glances at her companion with some concern. There are guards within view, and she can't help but shrink back a little.

It's not going to be easy to sneak in... is it?]

Tell me what you need me to do. [Her voice is soft.] But, if it goes bad... you can leave me. I don't want you to get in trouble here for my sake.

wyver;
a. artistic differences
[She's not an especially competitive person, but Yukina can't help but feel a little swept up by the atmosphere as she walks among the people working on their entries for the contest. She doesn't plan to win, either, but... watching everyone at work is a little inspiring, and soon enough, she finds herself seated at a surface, an array of crafting supplies in front of her.

After a moment, she looks up.]

Oh... hello! [There's someone there. She smiles and gestures to the seat at her side, which is open.] Would you like to work together? They say that two heads are better than one...

b. desires at the eternal flame
[To be perfectly honest, being this close to an open fire isn't the most comfortable thing in the world for her. The whole ice demon thing aside, she's got five years worth of trauma involving fire to work through. ...but it could be worse. This, at least, isn't painful.

It's warm. It's for a holiday, not to hurt people, and the more she lingers nearby, the more compelled she feels to help feed the flames.

And so she does. Or she tries to, anyway. She's found scraps of parchment to write on, but as for something to write with - well, she keeps an eye out for people who are writing out their own things, and when they seem to be done, she approaches.]

Excuse me... could I borrow that, once you're finished with it?

c. getting lost at the eternal flame
[...or rather, finding people.

Yukina doesn't know why the shamans have asked her, of all people, to help look for those who have gotten lost - She's as new to this city as anyone else. Newer, even, except for if one counts the other refugees. But she's never been good at turning away from people in need, and so with a nod and a determined expression, she cradles the small flame in one hand and sets out into the dark.

Her footsteps echo in the halls, but suddenly, she hears a noise from somewhere ahead of her and around a corner. She looks up, her eyes widening slightly.]

Is someone there...?

olympia;
a. gone but not forgotten
[A few days later, Yukina makes her way to Olympia - mainly so that she can get some firsthand experience with this other city, but also so that she can check on some of the others from the crash who didn't go to Wyver along with her. There's a lot to take in, but eventually, she makes her way to the palace gardens, where they're lighting lanterns.

Her expression becomes thoughtful and a little melancholy as she goes about joining in. When she reaches the water's edge, she lights a lantern and sets it gently adrift.]

...rest in peace, all of you.

[And hopefully, soon, the people she's waiting for will wake up.]

b. dark turns
[The walk back from the gardens isn't nearly as peaceful as the gardens themselves.

Perhaps it's the way she cautiously surveys her surroundings as she makes her way back that marks her as an outsider. Maybe it's that someone has overheard her inquiring after where she might find an inn. Either way, some Olympian native has managed to grab her by the wrist and tug her close, and she flinches and tries to struggle out of his grasp.]

—ah! Please let go of me!

[She fails. And she looks severely uncomfortable, casting her gaze about for someone who might be of assistance here.]
