[ it's nothing short of a miracle that Bigby is complying to this impromptu blind date that some asshole's signed him up for. the natural skeptic in him can only imagine the number of ways something so normal and opposite of his lifestyle will be ruined before he so much as enjoys an actual dinner with someone. so why does he decide to actually dress up into something half decent and participate? who knows. maybe he just didn't want to leave the other sucker that may have been signed up unwillingly hanging.
or maybe he's just morbidly curious if the date picked for him is half decent. there's weirder things that have happened here since arriving.
he had also been running late, but by only five minutes as opposed to ten. it gives him enough time to think he's the one who has been stood up, looking for practically any excuse to leave before this thing begins. but then that would ignore the fact that he spent some time actually dressing up, buying a new outfit that involves a shirt that is wrinkle-free for a change.
Shura appears just in time, however, and what was Bigby just looking at the menu with furrowed brows is now him glancing up to seeing her for the first time. and... okay. he's still finding this to be a tough sell, but she has at least passed the "half decent" expectation. after remembering that standing is an important thing for these kinds of things, he slowly gets to his feet and offers a— wait, what does he do here. wave? smile? he settles with just shaking his head. ]
It's alright. Wasn't a long wait. Uh, nice to... meet you.
[ is it sad that he didn't even reach over to look at her namecard before. oops. ]
I'M HERE
