While he lived his life in Winterfell, large cities and capitals were overwhelming for him. He was used to the quiet of the wilderness and relying on himself for survival. It seemed to be the same with Daenerys, letting this ride be a relief for them both and a respite from the growing problems within the city walls.
It was unexpected to find a dilapidated cottage this far out, but it almost seemed to be waiting for them. Vines and weeds had grown around it, the forest seemingly encasing it in its grasp. The roof had a number of holes in it, but there was nothing that threatened to buckle in around them. It was like it was asleep, resting among the boughs and branches of the forest, soothed by the gentle quiet and peace that nothing brought.
"Animals maybe? Birds and foxes? It doesn't look like anyone has lived there for awhile." He was the first to step inside, wanting to at least get a sense of the walls and bearings, to make sure that they would be safe inside. Despite how weathered it was, everything had held extremely well. "It's sturdy." There's surprise in his voice as he touches one of the beams. "Even through storms, it's still standing."
It wasn't a large place, maybe with an attic and a bedroom and little else to show for it, but fully restored, it would be nice and quaint. The sort of cottage one of the smallfolk would have. "We're near Wyver, not far from the border."
