[There was nothing quite like being dragged into the old Soviet underbelly where military sanctioned torture was so common it seemed to be a staple of life here. However, the uniform was different from anything he had come across; World War II was long done before he had been born. The Cold War had been a childhood fleeting memory and nothing more.

He was standing far at the back, leaning against the wall with his thumbs hooked into his belt loops and one foot drawn up to rest his boot on the wall as well. He was likely the most casual of everyone present. Torture was nothing new to him; he existed in a world where it was perfectly normal to endure it, witness it, cover it up.]


Question and answer period, I would say, especially since he's pleading with details of his life thinking they'll mean something.
