Hey, he's not usually so skittish, but once you've been on the receiving end of Larxene's particular brand of electroshock therapy, you definitely don't appreciate lightning the same way you used to. Thunderstorms are still fun to watch, but once you've been struck by lightning a few times, you really start to wish it wouldn't strike the same place twice anymore.

Axel grins a bit. Yeah, he knows all too well just how much focus, discipline, and practice magic can take. Don't ask him how many times he burned his eyebrows off, he won't be honest. He gives a bit of a laugh and waves a hand.

"Big guns have their place just as well," he says, seeing the olive branch and raising a few leaves. "Lightning and fire aren't so different, at the end of the day--one begets the other, and so on." He glances up at her again, eyebrows lifted. "So is lightning your element of choice?" he asks. "Or just what the needs of the operation called for in the moment?"

Despite the somewhat rocky start to the conversation, he is genuinely interested in hearing about how magic works on other worlds.
