How so? It's not unreasonable to expect to be paid for work. [ Denying someone something that could save their life, yeah, maybe that's cruel, but for less dire needs, onus is on the buyer to offer something valuable in return. Maybe he's just not the kindest person. ]

If all that's true, your society might be the 'utopia' many have searched for. [ But even in a group of 30, conflicts are sure to arise. He doesn't believe a society can run on clockwork like that, always producing what they need and sharing it for the betterment of the community. ]

But I find it hard to believe your people simply accept this. Surely there's someone who has a thought like 'I make valuable weapons, but that person only makes fabric. It's not fair that I have to work so much harder!' Something like that ... could easily make the whole system fall apart.
