It isn't.

[ There is no standing outside of this memory, this pivotal point that still sinks its claws into him from below and drags him into the darkness that overtakes him once more. Even if hauled up, he won't go anywhere anymore. All of his physical capability has been pitched from his body, but his mind hasn't given up yet.

It simply reroutes, trading synapse for circuitry, filling the chambers of his heart with howling.

Even his veins are strident with it, palm dry and cool from blood loss.

This isn't how the conversation went then, but he's too immersed to notice the differences. His grip isn't meant to stabilize himself, but to act an an anchor for an unsteady heart. Takasugi's isn't, but Orga's was. There is an adoration and a loyalty in his one working eye that's been a lifetime in the making. Enough to hand his life over for without a shadow of a doubt.
