[Mika might feel it, that flicker of uncertainty that flashes across Setsuna's mind. He knows that their actions did have (or would have had) a lasting effect on the world, but he can't say for certain that war is gone. But the world had taken a huge step towards a peaceful unification. There were still pockets of resistance; greed and hatred were powerful forces, but the most twisted parts of the world had been cut away.

In retrospect, Setsuna had a better view of the irony of the situation. That machine gave him hope when he had none; it it gave him a glimpse of how bright the future could be. But it was the pilot of that machine who would continue twisting the world for their own ends, only for Setsuna to destroy that man and that machine to help establish a true peace.

but even so, they had done it. Now all that was left-- all that would have been left was to see if humanity could clean up the rest without their help.]


We changed. [It was the only honest answer he could give him.] The world was reforming, it had begun to build a future for itself.
