Yes, it molds his world view and certainly the way he thinks things through, but decisions are all his own, or at the very least a team decision when it comes to the Gundams.
Tactical instead of emotional, all that good stuff. All five of them had been from very different worlds at the time they'd come to work together, but the common goal had kept them focused, even when they had differences in ideas of approach or, in Wufei's case, who they should be fighting with or for at all. ]
If you wanted to live on L2 you had to be ready to fight for it. Specially if you were like me and grew up in a gang of kids who took care of one another instead of with people to take care of you.
