"Okay, fair enough," he says, shaking his head. "I just feel like I'm walking in circles, like... I've seen all this crap before." He makes a noise in the back of his throat then. "Er... not that you're crap. That was a 'present company excluded' sort of remark." Good job, Axel, insult the guy, that'll endear you to him for sure. He hefts a sigh and rakes a hand back through his hair. "You don't happen to know how to get out of these woods, then, do ya?" he asks, gesturing to the tree the younger man was just scrambling up. "Were you lookin' to get a lay of the land?"

He's not sure what else he would have been doing up a tree, but he's willing to give benefit of doubt.
