( sometimes doing the right thing does indeed seem foolish — Diana is not the naive lark she'd been just off the island. she knows more and more through experience that fighting for what is right can often feel like a losing battle and a pointless gesture. it is less of right and wrong, black and white and clean cuts, and more blurred lines and complicated answers. it wasn't about what was deserved, it was what one believed in. )
