He means to be kind, she can see that and there is truth in that statement. Her family is still with her, even if they are in stasis. While she should take comfort in that, it was hard to see this as anything else but a threat hanging over her.

There would be others though that could help make things easier. She smiled at him, grateful for the attempt to cheer her. "I suppose I could have asked for something more personal, but I only asked for my family to be protected." Though it was disturbing to hear that they hadn't delivered on their promise to him. "How have you not followed their agenda? Has anything even happened yet?"

She shook her head, "It would be difficult if I didn't see this place. It's so different that I'm prepared to hear how things have changed...had changed."
