It isn't the first time she'd felt like that, felt the end of her life closing in on her. She can't really count the times she'd fallen asleep curled around an empty stomach, her throat dry, her body battered and expected not to open her eyes again. Only to wake up again each time and drag herself out of the ash covering the ground to carry on.
It was the closest though, and the first time she truly felt herself slipping away. It was also the first time she'd refused, the first time she'd wanted to keep on going.
"Yes. It is." She agrees and for a moment she thinks she can feel the same link between them that Asseylum does, but there's still some gap between them. It's that smile. Vin's not sure she's ever smiled like that, but Asseylum still can even after everything. Forcing her hand away from her side, she folds her arms over her knees again, her own expression still and neutral but softer to some degree. "However it happened I'm glad you made it through too."
