"I'm not sure... The natives seem more inclined to more traditional weapons, though." Ones she's seen before like bows and swords, which meant she mostly had to be afraid of other refugees carrying them. Perhaps she'd never see a gun apart from the one Steve showed her, but he'd kick himself later if something happened to her involving one and he hadn't warned her. Refugees needed to look out for each other, as far as Steve was concerned. That attitude was probably what made Steve a good leader in the war.

"I was trying to put an end to one, yes... At least twenty-five million people dead." He didn't need to say any more than that, did he? The death count summed up how devastating it was.

"You have family or friends you can see in stasis though, yeah?" That had to be a little comforting, assuming she knew no one else here (he imagined they'd be with her if he was wrong since most people would stick together in a scenario like this). At least she knew they were safe and maybe they could even wake up one day and join her.
