( introlog #5 ) strangerer things
You have spent the last few days on Thesa Station, taking in the knowledge that your world is no more. Perhaps you've made some friends (or maybe an enemy or two). Either way, you aren't expected to spend all of your time on the Station. El Nysa needs you, after all, and you promised you'd help the planet thrive. Are you ready?
Submit an AC-eligible thread with a new character as a participant for 2 OLYMPIA REP POINTS OR 2 WYVER REP POINTS, respectively, HERE or HERE. THESA STATION
All refugees on the station are called to the hangar where a large-scale teleporter has been set up; everyone will be sent to the planet together. Simply step onto the space between the arrays and wait. Before they depart, all new refugees will be given a starter kit!
You may have heard about earlier technical difficulties, but don't worry. I promise everything is in perfect working order this time. I'd say I tested it myself, but since that's not exactly possible, you'll just have to trust me! (Please.) The older refugees will also be there to guide you to ensure no one is left confused... or behind. Make sure you wait for them — I've been detecting something odd so I'll be having them meet you at the landing site. Good luck, refugees! Not that you'll be needing it or anything... The arrays begin to hum and glow, quickly building into a brilliant wash of light. It creates a column that travels all the way from Thesa Station to the surface of El Nysa. With the night sky as a canvas, the beam can be seen all the way from Olympia and Wyver — a view that has the natives whispering of blessings. As a sudden but beautiful aurora splays across the sky, the refugees down on the planet receive a message asking them to travel to the landing site — and warning them to prepare for what may come of the strange readings Zasere's gotten from the teleport itself. ON A BEAM OF LIGHT ![]()
Traveling through the light leaves the impression of blinding starlight, a strange sense of weightlessness, and a disorienting moment of total sensory deprivation. The radiance of your teleport hangs bright in the sky above you, a shimmering aurora that reflects off the calm waters below, visible for miles all around.
You've landed on a peninsula to the east of the South Outpost. There's little here — scattered trees on spring-barren plains, with a few overgrown, dilapidated structures poking out of the brush. All is quiet save for the keening of animals and the gentle lapping of waves against the shore. This lonely desolation is hardly the bustling cities and vibrant cultures you were promised back on the station... BY CAMPFIRE'S GLOW. But waiting for you is a group of your predecessors, and with them, a veritable tent city, with portable stoves, coolers of food and drink, comfortable bedrolls, and cheerful rings of bonfires — all that you need to make merry of the night, courtesy of Overseer Voss, who has, thanks to his interest in blessed meteorological phenomena and refugees, decided to make a holy expedition of the affair. CLOSE ENCOUNTERS ![]()
Despite going off without hitch, the new refugees' arrival isn't entirely without incident. It seems that the "blessed" beam of light that brought the refugees down to El Nysa brought something else along with it — a sliver of the Storm. At least the beam was short enough that only a small fraction managed to squeeze through.
But it's enough to wreak a little havoc around the landing site and along the road back toward Olympia and Wyver — and even, for a few days, in the cities themselves. THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE. The Storm is an undeniably destructive force, and that's proven with this small sliver's effect as it ripples across the continent. While there's no visible sign of its presence, strange phenomena soon begin to appear, corresponding with Zasere's odd readings. DECISIONS, DECISIONS... ![]()
The time is coming to make a choice — perhaps not a permanent choice, but unless you want to spend the rest of your nights out under the stars, you'll need to pick which city you will initially spend your time in. On the horizon, you will see that people have arrived to help you make that decision...
A FORK IN THE ROAD. Refugees and the hyper-religious wishing to hear Voss speak are not the only ones out and about under the light of the aurora. Citizens of both Olympia and Wyver have flocked to a point on the road midway between the cities and where the refugees have appeared, and they all have the same goal in mind: convincing the newcomers who have just descended in the blessed light of Thesa to come to their city and not the other. You've chosen your path, refugee, but that doesn't necessarily make it a permanent one. Watch out for the strange effects of the Storm, which linger still in the two cities and everywhere in between for the next few days before dissipating just as mysteriously as they came, but otherwise enjoy the welcome and make yourself at home — after all, this is home now. FINAL OOC NOTES
An AC-eligible thread with a new character as a participant for 2 REP POINTS FOR EITHER OLYMPIA OR WYVER may be submitted from this log. SUBMIT THE THREAD FOR OLYMPIA OR WYVER HERE AND HERE RESPECTIVELY BY APRIL 29th 11:59 PM EST.
We will no longer be providing overflow posts. In an event where the post hits CAPTCHA, players are advised to move threads to an overflow post on their character journals or create their own catch-all post. These threads remain eligible for AC, AC Rewards, and REP. 1 SILVER = 1 US DOLLAR. |

Geez! Did you have to say it out loud like that? You're just as bad as Ryuji.
[ Like that being that creepy voice. Seriously, the least he could do was keep it to himself, so that she didn't have to know how he feels about soft butts. Her soft butt. With a huff, she marches over to him and leans down so that she can grab him by the ear, pinched between her thumb and forefinger. ]
Come on, let's just get out of here. There should be a way out, right?
no subject
[ he weakly flails about as he feels the pinch that basically keeps his actions to a minimum. it's like a weak spot, like the scruff of a baby animal's neck when its mother clamps down on it, and he can't really do anything but make pitiful 'nyas' every few seconds.
if only he could touch Ann's soft butt for strength. ]
A way out... yeah, I think I can sense one. It's not that far. Even though this place looks like Mementos, it's obviously not the same place.
[ because clearly, he would've turned into a van and sped off by now. ]
You're not gonna drag me out like this, are you?
no subject
[ She says that, but she lets go of his ear anyway, after giving it a gentle little shake. It's kind of hard to stay mad at Morgana for very long, honestly... especially since she's still so happy to have him back again. Akira has been practically glowing lately.
Now she straightens again, her hands on her hips as she glances around. ]
Yeah, there's definitely something... off about it, right? [ Hm. ] Which way?
no subject
even if he sometimes gets punished like this. ]
It's... there. I think. You see it? [ he points at where a piece of the tunnel is fragmented, cracks that glow with a different kind of light. ] Maybe we have to break it down. It looks kind of like glass.
[ for them to return back to the safety of their home. ]
no subject
[ She follows the line drawn by Morgana's pointed... paw, and sure enough, there are small shafts of light emitting from the walls of the tunnel, almost like beams of sunlight through cracked glass. When she comes closer, she can see the jagged lines cutting across the wall, made more evident by the light seeping through them in comparison to the darkness inside Mementos. ]
Oh, yeah, I see it. [ She pauses here. ] I guess I'll... kick it.
[ Which is when she proceeds to do, albeit a little hesitantly. The wall doesn't budge. At all. ]
no subject
and... nothing.
right, well. okay. nothing's ever THAT easy. ]
Let me take a jab at it!
[ turn into a van? nope. use some kind of Persona skill to get them out? nope. it's going to be the old fashioned method, real brute forcing. so after a deep breath, he charges headfirst into the spot that he could reach easiest.
and he just... hits it and stops moving. he doesn't even bounce! Morgana just...
his head is stuck. ]
no subject
Before she can try round two, she steps back to let Morgana have his jab—except that doesn't turn out quite like she expected it to either. ]
Morgana! Are you okay?!
[ She moves to stand behind him—or his butt, sticking out of the wall. Then she reaches out to wrap her hands around his body and pulls—gently, of course. ]
Are you stuck?
no subject
[ struggling, as he puts both paws on the wall around his head and tries his best to push off while Ann tries her best to pull. but it's very clear that Morgana is just stuck--- his head, too big to allow an easy way out. it's almost like the fractures mend around whatever neck there is, and keeps him in place. ]
It's no use! I think you're going to have to try to... kick me through!
[ even if it means hurting him, somehow. ]
no subject
[ Morgana?! That's cat abuse! Still, he looks pretty wedged in there... and if he's not going to come back, then maybe he'll just have to go forward. ]
Hang on...
[ Instead, she adjusts her grip so that she's holding onto his... butt (now who's getting the tender touch of a soft butt?), and pushes forward as hard as she can. ]
no subject
Wow, you have soft hands...
[ well, it's kind of like the same thing. hopefully he's muted. ]
... wait, why is it sucking...
[ it's almost as if he's getting drawn in, and he's pretty sure that he'll take Ann with him if it keeps getting harder for him to hold on...! ]
... hang on!
no subject
[ She rolls her eyes. Can he not talk about her soft hands like that right now? It's tempting her to just leave him stuck in the hole forever.
Or... not, since she can definitely tell that something is sucking Morgana through the hole. Since it's actually helping their situation a little bit, she uses the momentum to shove him through to the other side, except—
She does it a little too hard (or she underestimates the power of suck, because she smacks her head against the memory-wall. ]
Ow!
no subject
but this can be up there with those two, for sure. ]
Panther! Ugh... wherever we go, I hope we'll be safe!
[ because that certainly is a good enough catalyst for the wall to crumble and for everything to just disappear into a blindingly bright suck tunnel that pulls them back into reality. ]
no subject
Whoa!
[ After being sucked out of the memory, Ann lands pretty unceremoniously sprawled on the floor of the house that she (and now Morgana) shares with half the Phantom Thieves and some other losers. She knocks her head against the floor there too, which makes her two for two with whacking into things.
She sits up and rubs the growing bump on her head, quickly looking up to search for Morgana. ]
Are you okay?
no subject
[ he shakes his head out, then his body, followed by his tail. one smooth shiver from one end to the other, as Morgana's ears fold back before springing forward. even though he wasn't stuck for long, it was still pretty uncomfortable being stuck in the suck vortex. ]
I should be asking you. I heard that thump. And the second thump.
[ moving over to her back, he gingerly reaches up to touch the bump. the head bump. ]
Yikes! I think I can heal that, but I don't know how effective it'll be...
