[Solomon's been cordially invited to a nerd's birthday party, which means he should show up prepared. Appreciative of the third-party summons and impersonal enough to indicate he won't be staying the entire duration of. He's already holding a sack of something questionable as he peruses various inebriants. One of the worst things about this planet thus far is that none of the beverages here make sense, and the after-effects can be unpredictable.

Unless you're an old sake-drinking guy.

Currently, he's bent forward, scrutinizing an iridescent bottle of Chermugeac Mousseux -- sounds douchey enough.]

[For all of his distaste regarding Wyver -- the smell of it, the look of it, the questionable nature of it in its entirety, Solomon spends a surprising amount of time in Murkwell Hollow. Close associates, re: Diva may be the only person on the gosh dang planet who'd know, or at least have a hunch as to why. Currently, and with purpose, he's kicking rocks (not literally) around the marsh. Same old shtick. Solomon bums around the marsh like a mallrat, irritates the local fake centipede monster(s) and gets his rocks off for the night. Feel free to have him infringe on a mission your character may be on, or catch Solomon in the midst of a heated battle with messed up appendages.

Are you still daydreaming about that?

[He who smelt it dealt it. Reign's made the fatal flaw of bringing it up specifically...]

I'll have to set this down if we're to continue talking about your ties to Diva.

[ Blood hound. Blond hound. Blond blood hound? Seemed fitting.

Reign eyed the bottle in Solomon's hand. He didn't relish having it smashed over his head, or used in other ways to cause him harm. Honestly, Reign preferred not to make a scene in public.

He waved at the wine bottle. ]

Put that down, and we can find a place to sit down and talk.

[ After all, they were gentlemen, no?

Reign didn't wait for Solomon's response as he turned and headed for the nearby cafe. This one was at a more isolated location, subdued and certain not to attract attention. ]

[He'll do just that -- set it down for the time being. He'll choose a better flavor later on, when he's not brimming with rage. Taste test it to be certain, even.]

Aren't you brave, to turn your back to me.

[Murmured in his wake. He's behaving, despite the opportunity Reign's presented him with.]

A mortal should air on the side of caution. Doubly when faced with acrimony -- have you no survival instincts?

[ It wasn't that Reign was brave or not at all afraid of Solomon. Part of him was reassured in the fact that if Solomon harmed him, it'll displease Diva. Angering the Queen wouldn't do any good for Solomon.

So Diva had mentioned about Reign's mortality to Solomon. That didn't bode well. Would it have been better, to die an instant death, or toyed if for all eternity if he was immortal? ]

Are you worried about me, Solomon? Or was that a warning?

[ Reign chose a two-seater table in one of the far corners, his eyes narrowing at the blond. ]

Is that what you're worried about? That I'm stealing your precious Queen away from you?

Why would I fret for your sake?

[Diva did ask him not to kill Reign, so there's that. She didn't say anything about kicking the snot out of him. He'll refrain from revealing as much.

And from sitting, discreet as Reign's trying to be. He's not one for causing a show in enclosed places -- where people may recall his face and bring it up later on. Smooth tactic in choosing such a public setting....]

Is that something you believe that you're capable of?

[Professionally answering questions with questions.]

[ So the possibility of a fight was still on the table, as long as Reign didn't end up dead. How bothersome. Not that Reign had any knowledge of it. Then again, he knew that if Diva wanted Reign dead, Solomon wouldn't hesitate to end his life.

His right brow twitched at that. There was that disconnection that he felt from Solomon again, just like the first time they met. How was it that they went to a one-night-stand to something like this, as if Solomon was ready to eat him up. ]

I've never believed myself capable of doing so. Diva is free to do whatever she wants.

[ It'll be a bit sad if she didn't want Reign as her bridegroom, but he could deal with that. ]

Surely you know that I'm not the only one. [ Did Solomon know about JJ? What about her rather close relationship with Keaton? ]

You don't have to remind me of that fact.

[Re: Diva, her freedoms. She can certainly get up to whatever -- pursue whatever. Here, she has more liberties than ever before; he's yet to complain about it, even if he dislikes many of her whims.]

The only one filling her head with nonsense?

[He knows of JJ and Keaton, but they haven't triggered him yet...]

Selling out your cohorts won't spare you.

[He's assuming, and he'll infer that as an attempt at redirection.]

[ Reign really didn't like where this was going. Sure, he was used to others disliking or even hating him, especially back in his old world, him being an abnormal and all. Heck, his father hated him and got him exiled from the clan. ]

What sounds like nonsense to you may mean something to her.

[ He didn't know much of Diva's past, other than she had a twin sister, but he knew that Diva starved for affection. Was he taking advantage of that fact? Not at all. Being able to have some sort of camaraderie with another vampire was a bright point in his life. ]

Just saying, in case it slipped your mind. [ As if it would. And honestly, Reign should stop pushing Solomon's buttons. Then he continued in a quieter voice. ] I don't have eternity like you or Diva does. I merely wanted to spend time with her.

[He looks untouched by Reign's initial excuse; his opinion doesn't rise from the end of that statement either. It's a hard lineface, if even.]

In other words, you were serving yourself in the end.

[A waitress will very casually slip in-between them, briefly, setting down a pair of menus with a brief greeting before heading off. This likely isn't the first pending argument-fight she's bore witness to.]

I won't ask you to stop speaking with her, you've already done enough damage to preserve your spot.

[As a fake chevalier, something more. An abrupt withdrawal would cause nothing but grief.]

But your antics will stop today.

[ In all honesty, Reign didn't actually hate Solomon, but he couldn't quite comprehend what made the Chevalier dislike him so much, though he was beginning to see the reason.

Reign said nothing to that, neither denying nor agreeing. The menu on the table went ignored. It wasn't as if what they wanted to order was available either. ]

So you're limiting me from having any future physical interactions with Diva, is that it? And how do you plan to stop me if I decide not to do so?

[Hey, a rare steak may serve some purpose.]

That isn't it. Diva would hold it against me, were you to cease contact.

[He'd be the obvious reason, too, considering their past conversation. It wouldn't be the first time he's over-intervened and caused her grief.]

I'm telling you to cease the intimacy of it. Refusing will only hurt her in the end, you realize...

[Kind of a death threat, yeah.]

[ At least they seemed to be going somewhere, despite the death threat Solomon still hung over Reign's head. ]

I'm an affectionate being by nature, and I can't stop the way I am.

[ Perhaps Solomon had been envious of how easy Reign's relationship was with Diva in the way he couldn't quite do it? He didn't know, and it wasn't in his place to point it out. ]

It's not something I can wholly promise, but I know what your concern is. The only thing I can do is to draw a line between Diva and I.

[ Building a close relationship, getting intimate in at least a sibling-like level, and then when Reign were to one day die, the grief could be too much. ]

[Well, they did fark around during their first encounter, but that's besides the point.]

Perhaps ordinarily, but you will refrain from it in the future.

[What's that flimsy agreement? He won't be mollified so easily.]

My patience is waning, Reign.

[ That had been a one time, and Reign was certainly not eager for a second repeat. ]

What are you going to do, hm? You don't own me, Solomon, and thus have no right to order to do or not do anything.

[ The air seemed to shift a bit as Reign placed his elbows on the table, hands clasped under his chin. ]

I don't take kindly to being threatened.

[ If he had to use his pheromones to make a point, then so be it, though Reign regret having to use it in the midst of the human population, despite how empty the cafe was currently. ]

Your misplaced freedom has lead you down a feckless path.

[A hand of his own settles flatly atop the table, his other grips the back of the chair Reign's settled on (if it's a booth, he's just resting his hand on the back of it, like a diet cicada trap).]

Choosing a public arena will have been for naught. If you're so adverse to warnings, shall we skip right to the show?

[ That would depend if Solomon had been sitting opposite Reign or beside him on the booth seat, because if it was the latter, he was beginning to regret this seating position a bit.

But he wouldn't allow the apprehension to show on his face. ]

What are you going to do, then, hm? Rip my head off, drink me dry?

[ Because if it came down to physical strength, Reign wasn't lacking in any way, though he had no idea that Solomon had another Chiropteran form. That would severely put him at a disadvangte. ]

[He's still standing, just kinda casually trapping him in that booth.]

You'd like that.

[For what it's worth, Reign's not the first one to bring up Solomon's monstrous capabilities without being prompted. It'd be insulting, something worth contemplating if it hadn't become a thing out of his own neglect.]

Otherwise, you'd agree to end this honorably.

[ Yeah, and literally making himself towering over Reign. Ugh.

He sighed, seeing this issue not going forward any time soon. ]

You were much nicer when we first met.

[ Well, no doubt the sex had been pretty excellent, there was no denying that. ]

Even if I agree, I can't stop Diva if she wants to be affectionate with me.

[ Not intimate, but affectionate, because there was a clear difference in Reign's eye. ]

I was doped when we first met.

[To clarify, though it's a tough admission. He's sure Reign was under a similar influence...]

That's right, and I'm sure there's no stopping that. [She has a terrible habit of lap-climbing-into, for example.] But I expect you to have more self-control, moving forward.

Well, can't deny that.

[ Reign had suspected as much, which came as a bit of a surprise to hear that admission. He would have figured Solomon would deny having enjoyed the sex, doping or otherwise. Come to think of it, it was the one time where Reign felt like he wanted to erase that from his mind. It had been both exhilarating and fun, but at the same time weird once he got to really know what kind of person Solomon was. ]

What do you expect me to do? Push Diva off me if she tries to climb onto my lap? [ No way was Reign planning to earn the ire of his Queen. ] I can attempt to limit my affectionate gestures, but I won't stop them. [ That was the most Reign could give him. At most, he'll just try not to display it when in Solomon's presence. ]

I don't expect you to harm her.

[He could provide something more firm than ambivalent instructions, a vague threat. Some part of him expects Reign to understand boundaries in the future, post-talk.]

I do expect you to end them, if they become inappropriate. If you're uncertain of your own discretion, I don't mind maiming you where you sit.

[Should prevent future confusion if he's handless.]

[ Always so violent, Solomon. Tsk tsk. But Reign kind of understood what Solomon wanted him to do.

He sighed, almost feeling an oncoming headache. Was this going to be a reoccurring situation whenever they were in each other's presence? Reign didn't relish being in the same room as the Chiropteran in the future, and he was sure Solomon felt the same. ]

Again, I'll reiterate that I can't promise not to abstain all affection or similar gestures in regards to Diva, but I'll watch myself. But if Diva wants them from me, I'm not going to deny her that. I won't refuse her requests.

[There's some sense of yielding in Reign's tone...Solomon thinks, anyway. It sounds better, like he's making some headway here. It isn't a perfect response, but it's better than dishonesty.]

I'll do the same.

[Watch...him...that is. What a creepo.]

I don't expect you to upset her. [That's not a thing he wants either...] You're far more sensible than you let on.

[An underhanded compliment of sorts. Not another death threat, at least.]

[ At least there was some semblance of truce between them, which Reign took as a good thing. He didn't want to offend Solomon, much less unintentionally anger him. But he was certainly going to keep his word on being more prudent with his actions around Diva.

As for Solomon being a creepy stalker watching him, that wasn't something Reign could put a stop to anyway. Might as well be on his best behaviour. ]

One has to if your life is on the line.

[ Haha. Either way, Reign made a subtle hand gesture for Solomon to put some space between them. Give him a breather, will you? ]

Anyway, I've given you my word. I expect you to let me on my way now.

[There's a nod and a step taken in reverse. It's true, he'd accomplished what he thought to be necessary and thus, Reign is a free man.

For now.]

[He'll toss a glance in reverse in taking a step-or-so from the table.]

I'll have the waiter put your meal on my tab, for the inconvenience.

[He says inconvenience but 100% feels justified, obviously.]
