[Mephisto doesn't look shocked often. Sure, he's been known to make an exaggerated look of surprise when he's flustered or caught in the act of doing something he shouldn't be doing. But the genuine, almost muted shock of hearing something he expected -- and yet didn't expect -- is sure to be a slightly unfamiliar expression on his face.]
[His expression is unchanging even as he slowly raises up his hand and snaps his fingers, his familiars each disappearing in a little poof of smoke -- and with them, any influence they might have been having on her. Maybe it didn't matter if they were here or not anyway, but he still had to be sure.]
[There's a brief moment where he searches her expression, looking for a trace of the spell wearing off, some embarrassment over saying something she didn't honestly mean to... but when he doesn't see anything of the sort, he shuts his eyes and crosses his arms with a sigh, hanging his head to the side.]
[But as soon as he does, his expression softens into a smile.]
I'd say you're more prepared than you should have been. After saying all of that, just how am I supposed to convince you of what a terrible decision you've made?
