The bandit swings again and John steps in to block the motion, forces his hand down until he drops the blade and begins struggling to get him into a hold. He's quick, all of them are irritatingly quick, but so long as they stay predictable that's fine. John steps in to a blow to the bandits stomach, then spins him around and catches him up into a choke. Less messy than just stabbing him until the bandit goes down. He drags him up to standing with one arm firmly around his neck, waiting for him to stop struggling before his eyes catch sight of movement.

"Ianto--"

Because there's another bandit moving in, and Ianto is too busy watching John strangle this guy to notice.
