"With a T," Axel echoes, tapping his chin, then shakes his head. "Mm, nope, dunno that guy, but I try and make a point of not messing with demons, personally."

He looks a little startled at the man's remark, then, and waves his hands.

"Ah-- No, I..." Axel blows out a sigh, making a raspberry sort of noise. "My bad," he says, shaking his head. "I basically spent half my life having to be around the worst people you could imagine, and as a result, like 97% of what comes out of my mouth sounds sarcastic. It's a defense mechanism, and sometimes I forget people who don't know me well can't tell when I'm actually being a jackass." He holds one hand up then, in a gesture maybe resembling some sort of scout salute. "I was not being a jackass, I legitimately would not screw with a ship or a weapon named 'Deathscythe Hell', are you kidding? That sounds terrifying--have you ever been to Hell? It's awful!"

Granted, he only visited the Underworld once, to retrieve Demyx when he'd been slacking off on a mission, and yeah, maybe it's not the Christian Hell, but five minutes in that place had been more than enough for Axel.

He holds out his hand then.

"Okay, let's try again, maybe," he says. "Hi, I'm Axel, and I have Chronic I-Sound-Like-A-Jerk-itis."
