Atsushi wasn't quite prepared, as it happens, trying his best to come up with a badass rebuttal about how he can handle himself and/or Chuuya no doubt has bigger things to worry about than him - but there he goes, and he adjust his posture immediately, trying to land on all fours with his claws out, both to do some damage and to keep from falling (or being thrown) off. What a total cat.
The dragon notices, to no one's surprise - who wouldn't notice a fly about to land on your face? - but Mephisto provides an ample distraction, and the dragon roars as it focuses on getting free of that grip, rightly estimating Mephisto to be the bigger threat. The sound of that cry tears through Atsushi like electricity, but he's used to pain, and he refuses to let it stop him. With a single jump, he's on the dragon's eye, first his front claws and then his hind claws cutting through it as Atsushi leaps on to the next. He gets there and starts digging his claws in, but he doesn't get to tear through that eye as he did the first, because the dragon frees itself from Mephisto's hold at last, and throws back its head, making Atsushi fly off. He cries out as he soars through the air, more out of surprise than fear, even though fear is definitely the more logical reaction here.]
