[Atsushi asked for that, and he's certainly getting it. Is this how a ball in a pachinko machine feels?! Suddenly he's somewhere else again and falling and he... really doesn't think anything of it. He should feel afraid, maybe even angry, but he just doesn't care. His own life means so very little, in situations when he can actually make a difference for other people - and, combined with the dragon's presence, that makes him both terrifyingly attack-oriented and almost stupidly self-sacrificing.
He lands, and he hits his target, claws mercilessly ripping through the surface of the dragon's other eye. Atsushi is a little better prepared for the counter-attack this time, wasting no time in running back over the dragon's head and along its neck, digging his claws in as much as he can for better grip. He's prepared for the dragon to swing its head around again, and he adjusts his grip and route accordingly; he's not counting on the dragon breathing fire, and while he tries to keep the dragon's own body between its head and himself as much as he can, that doesn't make it any less painful - and scary - to see the fire traveling through the dragon's decaying neck before coming out of its mouth.
Atsushi should be mostly safe where he is, though he'll feel the heat all right, and his paws are getting toasted from contact with the dragon's neck, too. (Real talk: can you fry eggs on a dragon? Is this a side business the dragon cafe should have??) If the fire happens to fly in Mephisto's direction, Atsushi honestly isn't paying attention.]
