Despite looking kind of like a delinquent and being decidedly socially stunted, Axel enjoys meeting new people and making friends, when his sarcasm doesn't scare them off.

He gives a soft laugh at how formal she's being. Undeserving? All he did was invite her to sit down.

"Nah, I think everybody deserves a little kindness," he says, and then makes a face. "Well, okay maybe not everybody." He can think of a couple of people who don't, but they're the exception. "But most everybody." He wags a finger a little, in gesture toward her face. "You have a kind face, so I think that means you're one of those most everybody who deserves it in return."

He cradles the cup of cider a moment and then inhales the pleasant scent. He's always liked apples, and isn't disappointed when he takes a sip.

"Hey, this is pretty good," he says, and his smile is a little sad then. "She's still sleeping, right now," he says, "and... I mean, it'd be nice to see her, sure, but she's a really gentle person. I think this world, this... whole situation would be really upsetting for her. So maybe it's better she's still asleep, at least for now." Then he thinks for a moment. "Ah... gosh, I guess it's been... about five months now?" he ventures, counting on his fingers. "Yeah, about five and a half months. Wow, a lot has happened in a relatively short period of time, sheesh." He takes another sip of cider and looks at her inquiringly. "Are you from the new batch?" he asks. "I don't think I've seen you around before."
