The questions probably seem a little left field, but TJ's first order of business with everyone she meets seem to be making sure they're doing okay - that they're not hurt and that they don't need anything. She's learning that everyone comes from a place that's not necessarily Earth (or Earth as she remembers it) and it's been a learning process for her.
