Despite herself and the situation, he earns a smile out of her. She tries to call it back, so it's more a tight-lipped raise of the corners of her mouth, but anyone who knows people can see by her entire expression that he'd amused her simply because... well, he's not wrong. A medic is a medic is a medic... unless they're a corpsman, but she stops the joke where it is.
"Well, you're certainly a mystery," she admitted, leaning back for the glass of water she'd asked for with her drink and pulling it close. "I've had a couple of sips from it, but it's still cleaner than saliva," she pointed out with mock admonishment. Instead, she dropped the corner of a bar napkin into it and dabbed at the place where his wounds would have been if they hadn't been quickly closing. Bringing his hand to her face, she peered at it, then him.
Her thumb smoothed over the skin, aware that even if his wounds were healing he might still be tender and, after another swipe of the damp napkin, she dropped it and used her other hand to touch it as well. Opening that hand after a moment, she showed him the pieces she'd removed and, clearly still confused, asked, "Has this happened before?"
