The mental image of Q sitting in a corner knitting away is pretty hilarious and she appreciates it deeply. Thank you, Jim.
"Sounds about right, especially given that you're a captain of a ship named Enterprise. He enjoys toying with with the Enterprise-D's captain, why not see what sort of a rise he can get out of the man himself."
Janeway doesn't ask about what that future entailed or about the eradication of the Q. It wouldn't do her any good to know how bleak things got, and she's already seen more than her fair share of evidence towards the Q's possible destruction. Perhaps she'll tell him eventually that said conflict was a Civil War that broke out in the Continuum and that she had the audacity to march into the enemy camp in attempt to negotiate terms with beings who could have blinked her out of existence and were already against her from the get-go for siding with the Q they're both familiar with.
And in a hoop skirt with several layers of petticoats, no less.
"It wouldn't be a complete visit from Q if he didn't take a jab at something of Picard's." Whether it be Riker or the Enterprise-D herself.
