[Ren has certain opinions of certain uninteresting villainous actions, and kidnapping people without any real plan behind it is definitely up there on that list. That sort of thing needs thought put into it to pull off, and if everyone knows that the kidnappings were tied into all this, clearly it didn't have that thought in this case.]
