Mmhm. The planet was so lush because it was constantly evolving - the life cycles there were so rapid we could watch it happen if we stood still for an hour. Flora and fauna made of pure energy, in some cases, just shifting around, adapting to life in that constant, hyper-speed pace.

And we found someone there. [ The plot thickens. ] An aggressive alien that made its home in a cave full of ancient items from our home planet. Weird. So I thought.. what would we evolve into if we stayed on that planet for years and years? 'Aliens' like that?
