"Probably a lot that has to be said behind closed doors and fairly robust soundproofing," Steve says blase. "But I'll accept that they probably had little choice in the matter. We couldn't have stayed up on the station forever."

Not with the power reserves on the fritz. And not with the newly awake passengers, adding to more mouths to feed and bodies to house.

(Not that Steve's complaining at all about the latter. He's got his best friend back again, and that's something he won't take for granted.)

But yeah, he's been a little skeptical since day one of this crazy post-world life even with the gratitude he has for the Natha scooping them out of a destroyed universe and bringing them here, even if he still can't understand why.
