Not everyone takes note of the fact that 76 is far more comfortable drawing information from others than ever talking about himself, but he isn't going to shy away from the question, now that it's been asked. He doesn't mind discussing his opinions about their current situation. It's when people want to know more about him personally that he gets cagey.

"We share a few things in common, particularly a strong dislike and distrust of the Natha." 76 is more disposed to liking the guy for that reason alone, except that he doesn't decide he likes anyone very easily these days.

"I'm sure that he's got his own agenda, but I think it's worth earning his trust so we can get more information out of him." Which is why whatever he salvages from this place will be going back to Magda, rather than to the Natha. 76 is pretty sure plenty of his fellow refugees have that covered already.
