I think a lot of them did it to make people feel like they weren't too far removed from Earth.. cold cycles came pretty often on L2 because it was just.. dirt poor. Couldn't do like L4 and rush repair parts out cause your people got money runnin' like snot out their nose.

[ People on L2 were more focused on surviving than thriving nine times out of ten - cold snaps became a part of the back ground when one was too focused on finding some way to stay warm or something to eat to hold yourself over until the next day. Street kids and adults on the street were the same in that facet.

Hell, even the 'rich' of L2 were probably actually 'middle class' anywhere else. ]

And the Alliance sure as shit wasn't gonna fix it, 'cause you know, people with nothing to lose in the first place fight the hardest.
