John starts to sway in place and Ianto makes the choice to step forward and reach for him, even though he knows it's a risk at this point. Something's wrong. Something was wrong even before this unsteadiness had started. People don't just up and forget like this, not even when they're tired. Did he fall? Hit his head on something? Did someone drug him? Ianto's mind runs over endless possibilities as he slips an arm around the other man's shoulders to brace him.
"Hey, easy," he murmurs, doing his best to guide him to the edge of the bed, which is again thankfully not that far away, given that John hadn't succeeded in dragging him out the door. "Sit with me, sit. That's it." Ianto eases him down before sinking down to kneel in front of him. Hovering, uncertain whether he's even able to touch him or whether that would set the other man off.
"John?" he urges, chancing a hand on the other man's knee.
