What are you talking about?

[ The only Reek Theon knows is the man Ramsay pretended to be, and what comes afterwards? He had assumed he would burn along with Winterfell, left for dead with everyone else, but that clearly wasn’t the case. He offers Jon a puzzled look, asking hundreds of questions somewhere behind all that pain and regret. It’s too much to take in. Where does he even begin? With a deep sigh, he continues: ]

I did not let him.

[ It’s such a weak, pitiful argument, and Theon can hardly put any conviction into his own words. It’s almost as though he hardly believes his own statement. He didn’t just allow Ramsay to take control of anything, but he knows how much easier he made things for him. It hardly took any effort at all for Ramsay to sneak up and pluck Winterfell from the palm of his hand.

And then there’s Rickon. Poor Rickon. He was only a child, and he had wanted for nothing more than his mother. What if Theon had found the Stark boys on his hunt? Would he have killed them as he claimed? He isn’t sure he could have, but he had been so angry and so hungry for approval, and desperate enough to do anything to earn it. Looking back, that terrifies him. In that moment, he was no better than Ramsay.

What of Bran?
