I wasn't thinking of a spell. [ Although, he wouldn't rule it out, he just really wasn't thinking of it. ] Maybe a telepath? Or a conspiracy. A couple years ago a Chinese splinter group made a device that'd trap people in their own worst fear, so that they'd just go catatonic.
