His face hardened. Prove himself? He had spent the last year or so of his life doing nothing but prove himself to his Mentor for the reward (well, return) of his possessions and rank, but at detriment to himself. And that ended so well. Now Mentor himself, he didn't need to prove himself to anyone. Who were they to tell him what to do? He already didn't trust them for a variety of reasons.
