[ ah... if only he'd been given such a warning. but truly, it's nice to meet such a nice young man. but he immediately realizes that this conversation is a mistake in the making when he's guided to his booth. usually merchants wouldn't hesitate to move on to the next victim when he admits that he's poor... and even that isn't an attempt to rid of him.

still, providing him a swimsuit for free? even that sounds like a scam, but... ]

[ he smiles, though. lancelot doesn't have anything better to do, so he'll see where this road leads... even if it's 1000% fishy. ]

So you're considered a refugee? [ lancelot considers this for a moment, before leaning in, as though to keep a secret. ] You mean from Thesa, right?

[ hopefully this young man isn't a native of the planet... ]

[ Lancelot is lucky that JJ is not, in fact, a native of the planet, though he can't resist an opening when its handed to him like this, expression remaining pleasant. ]

[ He keeps it up with a bland smile for all of five seconds before he gives into a laugh, shaking his head and smiling a little more conspiratorially. ]

Yeah, from Thesa. We've got that in common.

[ There's a nice spread of swim suits at the booth, though there's considerably fewer options for men—not as much trunks as there are bikinis and one pieces. And JJ picks a pair with a thoughtful look. ]

[ he's thankful for the laugh, because for a moment, he feels tension in his previous smile, feeling as though he had shared the wrong information somehow. but jj remains pleasant company regardless, and it makes him laugh, albeit nervously. ]

Is everyone on this beach from Thesa?

[ lancelot can't tell, anymore; they all look the same and different in other ways... ]

[ Putting the trunks back with a small frown—how could Lancelot say no?!—most of JJ's attention is directed toward finding a new pair, a lot less interested in discussing the unity of the refugees hailing from Thesa.

His eyes light up when he finds a much more subtle pair: navy with lines of red and yellow up the sides. ]
