His phone he tosses into a trash heap somewhere, the home he and Ana only just recently relocated to he abandons, and he stashes away his usual outfit and visor somewhere he hopes they won't be found. Even his pulse rifle has to be hidden, as it's too associated with him by now.
His sidearm he keeps, though. He needs some form of protection for when people come hunting him down for that reward.

He's at the palace area not to talk to anyone (that's far too risky), but to sneak around in hopes of overhearing some pertinent information.
