[ not anymore, anyway. he can tell her will to fight is fading, so he at least begins to backup a bit. she may have come after him, but he has no desire to take this any further than it needs to. as long as she's willing to let him go, that'll be that.

he can't really afford to risk a barrage of knives in the back. ]

Though normally, you should figure that out before picking a fight you can't win.

[ to her credit, she tries. her hand is planted to the wall and she attempts to get back up on her feet, even as one of her legs is quite making a full stand. but even a second of her hand leaving the wall gets her falling over again. ]

[ she wouldn't win. but she would try, and possibly end up even worse. that's how she's always been, raging into a fight even when the odds are so heavily against her. ]
