If asked, zaShunina could likely tell her why some of the people are here, but not all. Most of his research is done independently, with reports of his findings the only thing the Institute requires of him to remain in their employ. Which is fine by him, since information is something he believes should be shared by all. (Truthfully, he doesn't even care about the money. The knowledge he gains from working here is enough payment for him to keep coming back).

"Here." He stops at a door within the institute and turns back to look at Kanade. Beyond the door lies a room with walls painted a sterile white and empty of all furnishings save for a pipe chair. zaShunina does not immediately enter, but stays by the door and watches the woman with that same neutral mien, waiting for her to enter of her own will.
