She's had that theory for a while now, but something like that isn't a question you really ask, or a subject you broach in casual conversation. That's not what makes her pause.
It's the painful irony of this situation. Of what he says. Of worrying that as a human she might be in danger. What that implied... he really doesn't know her, does he?
