( too many thoughts running through his mind, and those thoughts have thoughts and are built on a foundation of thoughts with an undercurrent of more uncomfortable thoughts he just. doesn't want to acknowledge right now. needless to say, he's completely unaware of his surroundings for once as he walks along -- uncharacteristic for a former soldier and bodyguard, but catching feelings does strange things to a person's brain. like disappear it entirely.
it isn't until he hears a familiar whir coming at him, the sound of an object pushing air and moving at a fast speed that he reacts, just in time too, to only get nicked on the shell of his ear as opposed to getting a knife in his head.
it embeds itself in the tree behind him with force, resonating as the handle vibrates a bit with the sudden stop. Eugene looks over to it, then to his assailant, recognizing her only as some cute girl he held hands with once. )
What the hell!? ( Eugene's hand flies up to his ear, just in time for blood to rush between his fingers. it's been cut clean and he wonders if he'll look like some alleycat that's gotten into too many fights over garbage or something.
