Warning(s): Nothing at the moment, but I'll add them as things come up. Mephisto and Jae-Ha are in the middle of some 18+ shenanigans in one thread but that's probably getting cut short.

one - searching for supplies;
[Haru's up in the Old City today, taking a look at the marketplace. She doesn't seem too perturbed by the state of the Old City itself; sure, it's... definitely got a sort of dangerous feel to it, but she's pretty capable of defending herself if need be.

The axe she's got strapped to her back is something she knows how to use, after all.

That being said, she's not really anticipating a fight - it's more of a precautionary measure. She's calm and polite with the merchants as she looks through their wares, though eventually, she has to stop and ask someone for directions-]

Um, excuse me. [You! Yes, you! Help a girl out.] You don't happen to know where there might be someone selling gardening tools, do you?

[Do they even garden here? Man, she doesn't know. There's plants every which way down in the jungle itself, but they don't really seem organized - it's a very wild feel.

Which has its own charm, of course, but...]

two - foraging for foliage;
[Midway through the month, Haru decides it's about time to get her butt in gear. She's more or less decided that she will be returning to Olympia eventually, but she doesn't want to forget the nice parts of Wyver, either...

So.

She's got a pack full of supplies and a simple sketchpad in hand. You might catch her throughout the city, taking sketches of the various plants that are growing there -

Or you might catch her looking at one or two of them, puzzled.]

Hmm... I wonder if there's some way of harvesting seeds from this?

[If she can, she'd like to grow some of these back in Olympia - though she's not sure they'll take to the climate there.

...eventually, of course, she'll wander to the Undergrowth. She has, at least, stopped to grab her axe, but now she's lingering at the entrance, checking over her supplies.]

Well, no time like the present...

[In she goes!]

three - many hands make light work;
[Haru's spent a decent amount of time in Wyver - but, toward the end of the month, she joins the volunteer efforts to help get Olympia back on its feet. It's only fair, after all - Olympia was kind enough to take them all in when they first arrived, and she can't in good conscience leave them to flounder now.

So. If you're on the road to Olympia at the same time as her, she raises a hand and calls out -]

Hello there!

[Safety in numbers, after all; maybe you can travel together!

On the other hand, if you encounter her once you're both back in Olympia, you can find her basically anywhere in the city - helping move supplies around, working on general cleanup, et cetera, et cetera. She's pretty strong for a girl her age.

Of course, everyone needs to take a break sometime, and she's no exception. Catch her while she's taking a breather and getting a bite to eat, and she might wave you over.]

one - bad decision time;
[So. Uh.

Here's Yona. Here's Yona at Falmi's Ring, watching some of the fights with interest while clutching a few coins in one hand. Gambling probably is not the best habit for a princess to get into, but she's heard that if you get good at it, it can be a way of making money quickly. And since she doesn't have a steady job yet - she's mainly been doing odd job around Wyver for some coin - this seems as good an option as any.

For now, she's observing the fights. Her eyes are fixed on a slender man currently in the ring, ducking and weaving to avoid his much brawnier opponents' moves. He's quick on his feet and his strategy seems to be wearing his opponent down.]

Hmm... He's doing pretty well...

[Maybe she'll bet on him in the next fight.]

two - practice makes perfect;
[Thunk.

What's that sound? Well, that's the sound of Yona hurling small throwing knives (which she, uh, "borrowed" from Jae-Ha, sorry Jae-Ha) at a tree trunk. But it's better than the alternative! The sound means she's hitting her target and not, you know, missing and nearly throwing a sharp object at your face.]

Hah! I'm getting better at this.

[She's run out... looking proud of herself, she hurries over to pull the knives from the tree and heads back to the line she's drawn in the dirt for herself. Time to get back to work... Oh, hey, there's a person.]

Oh, sorry! Was I bothering you?

Oh, oops!

[Looks like she missed. Maybe you're an unfortunate passerby that is now going to have to dodge the knife? Maybe you got hit. Who knows.]

[By now, Yona's a pretty common face at the stables, especially now that the week of the full moon has passed, the dragons are back where they're supposed to be, and they're not trying to... you know, eat them.

Today, she's hanging around and peering at them when she gets the chance.]

They're so beautiful...! I wish I could ride one.

[But, uh, she's broke. Alas.

Alternatively, if you catch her in the West, you may see her watching some of the dancers with interest.

...later in the night, you might catch her in a secluded part of town, trying to mimic the moves on her own. She's not quite ready to join in the dancing herself, but she would like to learn!

She's a little unsteady on her feet, though. It's a lot of twirling and jumping.

Heck, she might even stumble out and smack into you if you're not careful.]

[Haru has to admit, one of the upsides of all this is getting to try so many different types of food. It's definitely different from Japanese cuisine, and markedly different from the fast food her father's company made its money on.

So, when she sees Taako out and about, sampling the different varieties of things that Wyver has to offer - she can't help but stop and look on, more than a little curious.]

<sub>[If there's one thing that's perpetually true about Slaine Troyard it's that he's unlucky. So much so one could say he's practically cursed. Venturing out into the woods not far from where Yona had been staying to look for her had been a simple enough task. Unfortunately for Slaine, Yona's aim can't hit all the time. To her credit, it's not as if she knows he's there as he comes up through the trees, but he's just as ignorant of her location as she is of him. The thud of something hitting bark reaches his ears, but what truly has his eyes widening isn't the sight of Yona throwing knives, it's of one of those very knives missing her tree target only to puncture his shoulder instead.

Her throw has enough momentum that the knife pierces through his shirt and skin, lodging itself for a brief moment until gravity decides to let it fall once he doubles over in pain. The weapon drops to the ground as a hand instantly finds its way to cover the wound, a hiss of pain slipping free from his lips.]</sub>

Slaine—!

[Where did he even come from? She didn't see him in the shadows, but there's no denying that he was there, since she's just, you know, stabbed him. With no small amount of panic in her expression, she hurries over and drops to her knees next to him to try and get a look at the wound.]

I'm so sorry - I didn't even see you...

[THE WORST.]

Are - are you okay?

[She's going to cry if there's blood.]

[Taako is, for once, looking fairly studious about whatever it is he's doing? At the very least he looks concentrated on something, which is more than can be said for most of the shit he does. Whatever he's got this time does look interesting, but he doesn't seem impressed. Seemingly snapped out of some sort of reverie when he realizes he's been asked a question.]

Hm, uh, I do mind. Not gonna direct any business to a stand that doesn't even serve meat chunks correctly - it can't be that hard. [Snapping his fingers, and the item incinerates in his hand. Is he just showing off now. Tilting his head as he checks out whoever this is that's approached him.] Actually, come with me, I could use an untrained palate.

[Then sweeping off, apparently just expecting her to follow.]

_{[There is blood. It's blooming over the white t-shirt he's wearing, staining his fingers as he applies pressure to the wound. It hurts, really, but he's dealt with worth. If anything it's messy more than anything else. What hurts more is the sudden panic he can hear in Yona's voice, soon seeing the emotion twist her features.]}

Well, that's not the reaction she's expecting. She blinks rapidly, but before she can apologize for interrupting him, he's inviting her along. There's no small amount of surprise on her face, but -

When he sweeps away, she's quick to follow.]

An untrained palate...? [Well... she supposes she might as well be untrained, since she's not familiar with the food here. She'll just keep quiet about what her father did back home from now.] Sure, I don't mind.

Yona's gaze darts frantically from the blood blossoming from the wound to the expression on his face - that is not the kind of face someone who is fine wears, and even she knows that.]

No, you're not! You're bleeding.

[Okay. God. She needs to breathe. But she's definitely panicking, and there are tears at the corners of her eyes, so that's not great.]

We need to get you inside and clean your wound...

Swallowing the pain Slaine nods as he straightens, standing upright. He needs to get a hold of himself...which he does impressively quick, palm still pressed to the puncture.]</sub>

[So far, Shinjiro's dog has been generally well behaved.

Of course, she's a puppy, so there are bound to be some shenanigans. Case in point: today, the little corgi has managed to sinks her teeth into what looks like both Shinjiro's beanie and one of Ryuji's socks. She's moving pretty fast, though, so Haru doesn't have much opportunity to verify before she's darting out of sight.]

Hopefully, she can catch up to her and get them back before Ryuji and Shinji notice. So much for dogsitting duty...!]

[So it's after Slaine's been stabbed and they've gotten his wound all cleaned up and bandaged, but Yona still feels incredibly guilty. The end result of this? They're curled up together on her bed, her arms around him (though she's very mindful of his injury and is taking care to avoid it).

They're just cuddling now because spoilers they're going to make out in that other thread and now they're tired.

She, uh, doesn't realize Mephisto is under her bed in dog form, though.]

[Betting isn't a respectable habit for any well-bred woman, but here they both are. Rosalind hasn't placed a bet just yet, but she has a few coins in her pocket ready to be spent. She'd earned a ridiculous amount of money luring those dragons in; why not see if she can double some of it?

She glances over at her murmured comment.]

He's doing well enough, but I don't believe he'll last for another few rounds. Still, your odds might not be too bad for the next one.

...how can you tell? If he's that fast, he should win all of his matches, shouldn't he? They can't beat him if they can't touch him.

[MEANWHILE, UNDER THE BED--]

[So Mephisto's been here for a while. He was sleeping on the bed until they came in, at which point he poofed under it, but... what...]

[The demon in him encouraged him to stay. Why? Well, why not? He's a creep, it's what he does! Even if he really has no desire to see whatever pale, elbowy sex-moves Slaine might be capable of--]

[But damn that pesky dragon blood. Something about this bothered him. Slaine was a perfectly nice boy, a little dull, but... surely he'd be a fine match for--]

[AND THEN IT KEPT GOING and he's finally going to use what seems to be a lull in the hot makeouts to finally make his presence known and-- stop it? Yeah, that's what he's doing.]

[And so, with a bit of a rustling, scratching sound, he lets out what can only be called the saddest sad puppy howl ever. You can almost hear the "Noooooo" in his voice.]

But honestly? Poor Mephisto. Yona's been pretty focused on Slaine since they got back, between her worry and her efforts at, uh, cheering him up. Logically, she knows that he usually sleeps in here.

But since he'd poofed out of their sight, well, it's as they say. Out of sight, out of mind.]

Still, I should have been paying better attention to—

When Mephisto starts howling, she jolts back, letting go of Slaine so that she doesn't accidentally tug on him and make his wound worse. Did... that come from under the bed? It definitely came from under the bed.

She looks over the side.]

F— [wait no she can't out him] ...Mongshil? Is that you?

_{[So it doesn't get infected. God, she's crying because of him, isn't she? That's not what he wants to see right now. Despite everything, he forces a smile.]}

Do you have something to bandage it with?

Mm. I have some bandages back home.

[She sniffles, then brings a hand up to wipe at her eyes. God, he's the one who got hurt, why is she crying?

...but she hates seeing him in pain, and more than that, she hates knowing she caused it.]

[See, Yona's perception is sort of skewed by the fact that she's never really seen Hak or Jae-Ha get tired, at this point in time. But she stops to consider that. It's a fair point...]

Wouldn't he stop fighting before he got tired? So if he goes into a match, it should be okay, shouldn't it?

Perhaps. But most fighters tend to fight until they lose, not bowing out, because the promise of winning is too tantalizing.

He'll run out of energy. And while dodging is all well and good, one needs to be able to knock out one's opponent. He needs the strength to throw his punches properly; a bruiser like that shan't go down easily.
