January catch-all
Who: Clark Kent (
apricitous) & you!
What: Catch-All and some concern about the state of things
When: January
Where: largely Wyver
Warning(s): none so far
[ scouting for reporters | wyver | open]
[ While Clark's put up his message, he's also putting up a few flyers around town with the same basic content; while his focus is the refugee population, just for ease of communication, he's not opposed should any locals show any interest in helping. He obviously can't offer any money since it's not a business as of yet per se or anything but... if you see him, feel free to ask about it. ]
[deserters | outside of the city | open ]
[ There are things Clark can't do, but there are also things he can do, things that he can't not do when it comes right down to it... and one of those things is look out for people. Especially people who are desperately trying to avoid a conflict.
Clark goes there first, asks what they need, and at first he uses some of the funds from his dragon bounty, what was still there. It's after Christmas, so it was a little more scant than he'd like, but he makes up for it by eating less, sitting in the sun more; he'll cook portions for Jessica the same as usual but he can make do himself. Eventually, he does have to ask for money, but he'll run into the city and bring back just about anything. He's also taken to spending the occasional afternoon out there, though, patrolling from the sky or ground to take care of any natural threats that might be stalking the smaller settlements just in case... ]
[ home | wyver | open ]
[ If you happen to come by their house, you'll find Clark at one of three activities: attempting to write something on the current Wyver-Olympia conflict, trying to figure out how he can better siphon some of his paycheck into supplies, cooking the occasional bit of food, and working from a particular book given to him for Christmas as a present, muttering to himself in a strange language that your character almost certainly isn't familiar with. ]

And who would those 'overlords' be?
And how would that explain all the people from differing universes?
no subject
[ He points skyward, at the Nysan moons. ]
As for how the differing universes are explained...Well, there are a few possibilities for that I've thought up. But it's just a theory, dear fellow; I'm not committed to it. And debates are so stressful, don't you think? Another problem with democracy - so much shouting.
no subject
[ Do any of them, really? They know what the Natha have said they are, what their goals are, but they don't exactly have any context, any outside confirmation. ]
And debates are only stressful if you're tied too tightly to your ideas. Or if you think your value is tied to the quality of your arguments.

[ He drops his chin into the curve of his hand, tracing his finger along the lip of his glass. ]
Everyone wants to seem clever. Or, well - at least those of us who get by on our wits do. Perhaps you don't have so much ego tied up in it, given the impossible symmetry of your features and absurd squareness of your jaw.
no subject
I'd rather seem like I have a good point than that I'm clever. But I suppose your mileage might vary.

A good point can stand on it's own for the most part, it just needs raising.
But you can make a bad idea sound good with cleverness. And a good idea sound bad the same way.

no subject
A bad idea does not.
no subject
But that frames ideas in terms of their outcomes. That means you can't separate out a good idea from a bad one until after it's carried through to its conclusion. Which isn't exactly helpful when a poor lost soul is trying to make a decision.
no subject
And then the poor lost soul has to try their best and choose as well as they can.
no subject
[ By tilts his head to the side, and smiles rather ambiguously. ]
Assuming, of course, that the clever man is virtuous and wants to lead someone to that good idea.
