[Claire's sigh is audible, even if a normal man were standing that far away, and she lifts her arms in exasperation. Once, she tried to stop a war. Tried to stop the funding, the snowballing, and in the end was even willing to murder one of the main players--but it came anyway. She failed, and the consequences tore her life apart. The wounds have mended, but they're still there, and this is a finger trying to jab its way in.]

If I knew--if anyone knew--there wouldn't be any bloody wars at all, would there?

[It's edging on the side of too telling, but she doesn't care. It's not an outright admission of knowing that there have been countless wars in countless worlds and probably countless numbers of people like herself, like him, that would like to stop them.]
