Who: Claire Fraser (
nineteenfortyfive) & Loras Tyrell (
triplerose)
What: A chance meeting, likely resulting in Claire adopting another Westerosi.
When: Early February.
Where: The .outskirts of Wyver.
Warning(s): TBD.
[ Now that Loras is effectively on his own, for the time being, he's been doing more to try and keep his days busy. Of course, there's lots to do with the Knightryders, but sometimes he just prefers to be on his own. He doesn't really mind it. His thoughts never really bother him so long as he's focused on something.
Today, that something is his archery. With one of his teachers dead and the other one unable to help, Loras is own his own for the day. And that's fine. He's not too terrible at it, and he'd had enough instruction that he knows now if he just keeps it up, he'll eventually be quite apt at it. One by one he fires off the arrows from the enchanted bow, until he's out and he has to go on a walk to collect them.
Each arrow is pulled from the ground, from small patches of flowers that have sprung up around them once the arrows hit. ]

Hello. [Claire greets from a distance, not wanting to startle anyone.] Practicing?
[Obviously.]
no subject
Oh - Yes. I'm afraid I'm not very good at it.
no subject
Did you just begin learning?
no subject
In a way. I learned, once, a long time ago when I was young. But I was more fond of swords and lances so I put all of my time into those. At least this is something to keep me busy.

[Theon claims to be one, but he'll have to wait for his hand to heal up before he can actually attempt to prove it.]
Swords sound like the most practical of the lot.

[ It was, after all, his livelihood and one of his clams to fame. He pauses, though, and ducks his head with an apologetic smile. ]
My name is Loras. It's rude not to introduce one's self, I apologize.

[The smile on her face falters for a moment, some distant memory coming to mind. It may have been only months ago, but she's fit twenty years in that time. Still, some things remain.]
... if I'm not mistaken, I think you might have known my husband, Jamie? Jamie Fraser.
no subject
I did. He was very kind to me when we first arrived.
[ And Loras remembers how highly Jamie had spoken of his wife, and how much in love with her he had been. ]
You're certainly a lucky woman.
no subject
Maybe that's why she keeps losing him.]
I'm sorry we haven't met before now.
no subject
It's hardly worth apologizing for. There are so many of us, it seems, I don't think I'll ever meet them all. But I'm glad chance has found us together. Do you call Wyver home?
no subject
[She lifts the basket with her, a few flowers and herbs peeking out from under the cloth she has over it.]
I live in Olympia, with the Starks. [A number of people seem familiar with them.] Wyver is a little intimidating, to be honest.
no subject
There are worse Westerosi to be living with. [
Stannis] I think I'm the only one from Westeros who chose Wyver. It reminds me a bit more of my home.no subject
I'm very fond of her, yes. And her father, and her brother. I had no idea you were from the same place.
[Jamie might have collected Westerosi before her? Incredible.]

[ Forgive him. Loras is good at playing polite and the part of highborn, charming lord, but one on one and with no buffers his conversation can get a bit rambly if he's not careful. ]
They're a very noble family. [ Is all he should have said from the start. ]
no subject
I can't say I'm well-versed in the politics and events of Westeros, though I've heard bits and pieces here and there from... just about everyone I've met from the place.
no subject
Depending on who you happen to be talking to, it can be quite a different story. The politics are more or less, stab someone in the back before they can stab you.
[ There's a smile, but it's thin, and clearly not at all humoured. Loras clearly was the one who got stabbed first. ]
no subject
[She's had her own dealings with politics--as the backstabber, though she was never proud of it. Especially when it came to a point where it became literal. But that was a long time ago.]
Westeros and its politics are gone, for the most part... I know there are a number of you here. I only hope you haven't been bothered.

Though Jamie did get to you before I did, so you can't be helped.
no subject
[ He laughs all the same. ]
Do you need an escort? You seem like you can handle yourself more than adequately, but you never know what Wyver crazed lunatics are about.
no subject
[A husband that would most definitely insist on her having an escort. Knowing as much--]
I don't need an escort, and I'd hate to take you away from your practice, but I wouldn't mind company.
no subject
[ He's already gathering his arrows into their quiver and hoisting it over his shoulder, but not before reaching to pluck some of the flowers that sprung up as his bow pierced the earth. Of course, he offers them to Claire. ]
It won't be a problem. I think I've practiced myself out for the day.
no subject
[Amused, Claire takes the flowers with a smile and a nod. Odd, how those flowers seem to be right where his arrows were...]
Thank you. All right, then. If I'm not taking you away, then let's take a stroll. You'll help me not get lost.
no subject
I'll do my best. What brings you this way? Or did you have to escape from the Starks for a moment to breathe?
[ His mouth twitches into a smile, and he ducks his head to laugh. ]

My God, they're not that bad! Or perhaps I'm a northerner at heart, if I don't find them suffocating.
