[ After successfully completing their mission, and reaping the benefits, Alan and Juvia mutually agreed to getting to know each other better. It's clear to see the benefits to both a work relationship and one of friendship.

She's hoping for both in this case-- the separation of Olympia and Wyver with refugees causing her circle of friends to whittle down. It's why she's got a bad case of nerves as she walks to the front of this very fancy restaurant. She always feels underdressed, but that feeling is much stronger as she approaches the staff. ]

Alan. [ It's said with a smile as she's left to settle on the opposite side of him at the table, the host promptly leaving after a gloss over the two. ] Juvia is sorry if she made you wait.. Misty's babysitter hadn't arrived yet.

[ By now, she's shown him at least 10 pictures (all the same angle) of the baby seal. ]

How are you?

[ He likes to make friends. That mantra has carried him through this time here as it did in the months after Clark's death. More than that, there's an obvious payoff: it keeps his old self asleep. To be alone is to be dangerous. ]

[ Any opportunity to expand, Bruce takes it. Whatever comes after a foundation of trust, it's a bonus. He did choose somewhere more upscale: Bruce has certain proclivities, even without the vast fortune he's accustomed to having. That, and Juvia deserves a nice dinner after the mission they took. ]

Not at all, I only just got here.

[ He always arrives much earlier to scope out the scene, and spent his time in the neighbourhood before getting to the table only five or so minutes before her. And smiles, at the pictures of the small seal. It's an adorable creature. Not his type, still cute. ]

[ She feels relieved that he hasn't waited long, that at least her being late hasn't let this dinner snowball into the usual catastrophes she finds herself in. Catastrophes like her big unfiltered mouth saying something stupid or her habit to sweat profusely when nervous. ]

Juvia is feeling good. [ There's a nod that accompanies her words as she takes a second to glance around the restaurant. ] A bit excited, as well. I've actually never been to this area before.

[ Creature of habit, she is... She only lurks the necessary areas (i.e. work, her house). ]

It's different from what Juvia has experienced so far.
