[ Steve opens the door, relieved to see her like he'd asked for a miracle and it arrived in the form of a small, enthusiastic (if tired) girl. ]

We've got a good few hours before Peggy gets back. [ Steve says, pulling the door open, wide enough to give her the space to come in, bag and all. ] Help me, You-bi Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope.

[ Is that Steve Rogers quoting a pop culture reference? It most certainly is! He's out of his element here; all bets are off. ]

[Pop culture reference! Of course, You not knowing his fish-out-of-water status, just thinks it's a normal joke. She gives him a toothy grin and snaps a quick salute as she steps inside.] So whatcha making? I got a bunch of stuff with me, so whatever you've got in mind, we'll sauce it up a little!

Well. I've got the stuff to make something like pasta.

Or maybe it's a stir-fry, I figure I'd get a bagful of ingredients and let you take the reigns on this one.

[ He shrugs, looking and feeling all together helpless. ]

You know, whichever one's easiest for a novice like me.

[ayes]

Hmm. [She pauses for a moment, setting the bag over her shoulder and tapping her lips.] I mean, stir-fry's totally easy, but pasta's not much harder! Heck, you could do both-- main dish of pasta with some veggies on the side. She'll be totally impressed! Let's get started! [It's not very far to the kitchen, and the house layout is much like her own, so You finds it pretty quickly. She sets the bag down on the linoleum, dusting her hands off.] So, what sorta noodles and sauce we got?

Uh.

[ Steve reaches for the alien-brand of noodles that resemble spaghetti, but are a little less ... wheat-y. It comes in a bag, which is familiar enough, and they don't wriggle or move or anything like that, so they're obviously safe.

The sauce on the other hand? ]

The stuff they had at the food market seemed a little ... [ He shrugs. ] Well, I wasn't sure exactly what any of the sauces were made of. But I've got some veggies that I figured we could use to make a sauce.

Picked up all the recommended spices too.

[ayes]

[She keeps tapping her lips.] Okay, okay, we can work with that, no problem! Here's what we're gonna do, Steve. We'll make a nice veggie sauce that you can pour over the spaghetti, and you'll have a side of stir fry. A nice meal, made with love! [She beams.] I'll get started chopping the veggies, okay? I need you to start boiling a pot of water, and get a frying pan, drizzle a little cooking oil on there, start heating it up a bit. Got it?
