JULY 16th: THE MORNING AFTER
In the early morning, your characters' phones will buzz with a text from an Unknown ID. It contains an audio file as well as its transcription:
INTO THE WOODS ![]() Head east, Darma said— and so you do. That seems to be all you can do. Traversing through woods is not a simple task. Hopefully you have taken advantage of the camouflage outfits offered prior to the start of this great migration. Naturally, for those of you who have done the training modules, some things will be a bit familiar. Some wildlife will mimic what you've seen there. Nevertheless, it'll be crucial for one to keep on guard. While Sael selected the Outlook as the ideal place for landing due to its direct removal from Olympian or Wyver soil, it doesn't come without its own dangers as you venture east. Perhaps it's time to face your fears.
ENTER: OLYMPIA'S WEST OUTPOST ![]() After a full day of travelling, you finally make it to the West Outpost as Darma instructed. You can tell by the way the trail gets neater, flatter. There are some small shops all along the sides of the road, offering trinkets, precious stones, and food. Unfortunately, you don't seem to have the money to purchase anything. The only thing you can do is watch wearily as you approach the West Outpost Gate. Near the gate, you're expected to form a line. The guardsmen seem to be inspecting every person entering. When it's finally your turn, the guardsman seem to know exactly what group you are. He immediately calls you Refugees, then proceeds to open a folder specifically labeled Refugee Group D. You might assume the "D" stands for Darma. He seems to be happy to see your arrival — Anyway, we've been expecting you. You're in luck! You refugees arrived the day after Thesa's blessing, y'know? That meteor shower was a sight to behold! ![]() It seems now you are an official Olympian citizen with this passport. As you walk around, there will be an old man about. He sees you holding your bags and passports and approaches you. He has seen the fiasco in the skies from the day before. Naturally, he believes it to be a divine sign, and you the product of that. Which translates to free food. It must be relieving to eat (relatively) normal food after so long. There's also a very special visitor at the Outpost today: a woman by the name of Lysa, who happens to be a renowned healer in Olympia. Following the strange meteor shower, she’s come out of the city and into the outskirts to see it all for herself, this divine phenomenon brought upon by Thesa. While she has no explanation for the sudden occurrence, she stays, because she can sense that her services are needed. Healthy characters will taken by the hand and brought to a wounded fellow refugee. Lysa will then urge them to stay by that refugee’s side, to care for them. Please, do not go. I need a little of your compassion and patience. Characters who answer Lysa's pleas will be given a small vial of Proliferation Elixir as a token of gratitude. It's good for one-time use. NIGHTFALL AT THE WEST OUTPOST ![]() As dusk approaches, bustling Outpost quiets down as the flea shops pack up their things to go home. But it seems this outpost is not one that simply sleeps at night. Thesa is high on the skies when the Outpost square lights up. There's music, dancing, and laughter. They seem to encourage you to join them as well. "This celebration is for you! Come, join us!" Perhaps their enthusiasm is infectious enough for you to succumb to it; perhaps you don't understand at all why they're this happy after the hell you went through to get here. It's not like you can tell them what the "meteor shower" actually had been. At least they offer free alcoholic drinks and a great feast similar to those you remember from home. You may find that the drinks are far stronger than any alcohol you've ever had, but it taste like a typical cocktail, or whiskey/scotch/vodka/your flavor drink. Nothing particularly special until you make your way back to the inn. Let's hope you won't walk into the wrong room. FINAL OOC NOTE
This is PART TWO of our three-part intro event. PART THREE will be up on JULY 22ND, at 6 PM EST. In the event of CAPTCHA, we will be providing an overflow. In the event of a second CAPTCHA, players are advised to move threads to an overflow post on their character journals. These threads remain eligible for AC, AC Rewards, and REP.
The NETWORK is still down. Characters may still message each other's personal IC inboxes. REMEMBER TO USE COMMUNITY TAGS. RECOMMENDED LISTENING: Nocturn OOC PLOTTING may be continued here.

Princess Mipha } Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
[Similar to the training in the virtual reality rooms, Mipha can be found with her trident, deftly jumping to the rescue of anyone who seems to need it. Each monster is killed with a fluid grace, power, and precision that might seem out of place given how fragile Mipha herself looks. But clearly she knows her way around her weapon.
Whenever the threat is destroyed, Mipha turns to whoever she's just rescued and smiles reassuringly] Are you in need of healing?
[Into the Woods -- Prompt B]
[Tha lake! Clearly this is the best place for Mipha, she feels almost right at home again. Well, okay, not exactly, considering her home wasn't this...jungle-y, but whatever.
She dives into the water after a moment of assessing to make sure it's as clean and nice as it seems and gets to work spearing fish on her trident and tossing them up to the bank of the lake. Hope you don't get smacked with a flying fish!]
[Nightfall at the Outpost]
[Mipha is all indulgent, peaceful smiles, back straight and hands clasped in her lap as she watches the festivities unfold. She doesn't refuse any food and she even dances once or twice with someone bold enough to actually ask her to, but in general she's the picture of careful politeness.
After a while she disengages from the group to bring food to anyone who might seem like they need it, sitting next to them and offering a tray of various foods with an encouraging smile. She then looks back at all the partying people, shaking her head] At least someone's pleased with all of this. A tragedy for us is a miracle to them, it seems... [There's no judgement though, just a sort of amused resignation]
[WILDCARD]
[Mipha will be more than happy to sit with anyone who's been given a potion and sooth them through it. Or if you have any other ideas, hit me up with them!]

Lambda, in all her years, has never seen anything quite like it. Not a mermaid, nor a selkie-- a unique creature that she couldn't find in any of the fragments she'd visited over the course of her years. That was a feat in and of itself. It was very hard to surprise Lambdadelta, but once you did, it was easy to intrigue her.
She sits down at the lakeside, waiting for her to break for air. ]
Hey there, miss Mermaid! Can I ask you something?
no subject
Yes...? [She makes her way over to the shallower waters, curious, and her eyes instantly are drawn to the other girl's ears. Since she doesn't see any long point sticking out of her hair, Mipha assumes Lambda is one of the humans] Do you need help?
no subject
[ Yes, she's just... interrupting your fishing to ask about you. Who can blame her? She's never seen such a brilliant looking half-shark before. Whoever created her must have been really proud of the design!
Behind her, Lambda has piled up the fish she'd caught by hovering them as they flew out the lake. It was like playing a fun game of catch! ]

For now: Q&A.] I'm from a place called Hyrule and my people are called the Zora. [She smiles] I don't mind answering your questions if you have them. We can oly foster a good relationship between people if we don't give in to ignorance, after all.

let's get drunk fishgirl
Ignorance is bliss.
[He says smoothly.]
They-- [He cuts off when he turns around and actually sees her. His eyes widen for a moment and then...] fish....
[Eloquent.]
careful she drinks...like a fish...... i hate that i couldn't resist that
Oh.
Mipha blinks once, twice, and then smiles despite herself.] My people are called the Zora, but yes, I suppose we're quit fish-like.
[She glances to his ears and seems to perk up suddenly with interest. The other markings on him are unfamiliar, though in some ways they remind her of the Sheikah markings, but maybe--] Are you... Are you a Hylian, by chance?
no subject
I apologize, I not familiar with Zora.
[Then again, no one really has explored all of the seas and oceans of Thedas. There were tales of people who lived below the depths of the waves. Maybe they were Zora. He turns to her again, after she addresses him. He shakes his head in answer.]
I am an elf, not a Hylian.
no subject
An elf... The largest race in my home are people that look like you. [Well they were the largest race, probably. Now they're all kind of shells of their former glories but. Whatever, no need to get on that here.]
In truth, I've never met a human before I came here. I thought at first something had gone wrong with all their ears... [She'd been Concerned. A mass ear-deformity or something.
She offers the little tray of fruit again, encouragingly. Don't drink on an empty stomach Fenris.]

while initially a little annoyed, that annoyance twists into surprise when he recognizes his "savior." ]
Not this time. [ as if to demonstrate, he wave his arm, making clear that it's not a bloody mess for once. ] You're a girl of many talents, aren't you?
no subject
[And then looks a tad embarrassed] I would be a very poor princess if all I could do was heal; I have to be able to protect myself and others as well. [It's not her favorite thing in the world to do, but it was helping others in one way or another.]
no subject
Though I haven't met many princesses in my time [ i.e. none. ], my perception of them has never included "spear master."
no subject
I only know of myself and another princess, so I don't have much to compare it to, I suppose. I think it'd be stranger to leave a princess unable to defend herself... I was gifted a spear at birth and learned to use it once I came of age.

nightfall
I appreciate the gesture, Princess, but I'm not particularly hungry.
[Then again, when is he ever? Has anyone actually seen him eat since his arrival planetside? One wonders.
Ardyn looks back out at the crowd; it's impossible to find a completely peaceful spot what with all the buzzing energy around them, but he's managed, at least, to find a corner to keep to himself for now. Occasionally, someone strikes up a conversation with him and he humors it with ease. But he's made no attempt to integrate into some of the more rowdy groups.]
It's all a matter of perspective, as it always is.
no subject
Instead she watches the crowd, their cheer a strange juxtaposition to the insanity that had been happening only a short day or so ago.]
They seem to think it a good omen. Perhaps their optimism and good cheer will prove to be a self-fulfilling prophecy. [And then she focuses her attention on him again, smiling once more]
I'm glad to see you've made it through this ordeal intact.
no subject
Either way, I'll not be the pessimist to drag down their celebrations, frowning at everyone around me. Let them be happy for our arrival if they like. Even if they don't know the truth that lies just under the surface.
[He returns her gaze, arching a brow.]
Yes, all very much intact, as I would've hoped. I'm more resilient than some give me credit for. [such...an understatement.] But the same could be said about you, as we've discussed before. Despite everything, you're still going around, making sure everyone is well fed and tended to. How admirable.
no subject
For many of them, a little bit of politicking might be child's play compared to what they were dealing with before.
'Admirable' he says and she (some...how?) blushes and looks embarrassed] Well... Someone should. I suppose I simply can't sit still for very long, that's all. [She looks out around the mingling people]
I suppose I should be celebrating too. I've found someone else awake from my home here, and I'm very relieved to see her again. I can't remember it, but supposedly that prophecy I spoke of before was fulfilled, and my duties with it... [She trails off a moment and smiles, not entirely certain] It's a bit strange to not know what to do with myself now.

AND I'M SORRY BACK. CONVENTIONS....
( woods - a )
It's a. Fish. Girl. And she's so small.]
Wow...
[Excuse him for a moment he'll have manners when he can pick his jaw up off the ground.]
no subject
Are you injured? [She asks again, mirth clear in her voice and on her face.] I can help you, if so.
no subject
--oh! Noo no, I'm fine! You did a hell of a job watching my back there! [He grins sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head.] Thanks a lot! Sorry about the staring, you'd expect better from me, I figured I'd seen everything by this point...
no subject
I don't mind the staring, it's quite alright. I'm aware I'm a strange and curious sight for most humans. [She smiles lightly] So far, my people, the Zora, seem to be unique to my home.
I am Mipha.
b
What's more, she sees someone swimming in it already, which means it's either clean or they're crazy. She decides to go with the former.
She tosses off her robe, putting it to the side, and kicks off her shoes, taking a running leap off a moderately tall cliff into the lake, executing a perfect swan dive. Yes, she's still wearing the rest of her clothes. No, she doesn't care.]
no subject
Plus, the dive was very nice.
Still, she knows better than to just say something, not wanting to scare the poor girl, so mipha hangs back a bit of ways, waiting for the girl to surface and smile gently whenever You notices her]
Your form was very nice.
[Please don't scream please don't scream]
no subject
When she turns herself around and sees who's talking to her, and how unmistakably nonhuman she is, it does give her a bit of a shock, though. Not a large one, since Mipha isn't the first nonhuman she's met, but it's a surprise nonetheless, and her eyes noticeably widen.
She doesn't, however, say anything.] Oh, uh... thank you! I have a lot of practice!
Isn't the water nice? I hadn't realized how badly I wanted to go for a swim.
no subject
It's beautiful here, yes. I was worried we'd never seen clean water for swimming, or that we'd end up somehow incompatible with it. But I've been having no troubles so far. It's been a little like... Well. It's something nostalgic. Homey, almost?
It's comforting, all the same.
