( introlog #5 ) strangerer things
You have spent the last few days on Thesa Station, taking in the knowledge that your world is no more. Perhaps you've made some friends (or maybe an enemy or two). Either way, you aren't expected to spend all of your time on the Station. El Nysa needs you, after all, and you promised you'd help the planet thrive. Are you ready?
Submit an AC-eligible thread with a new character as a participant for 2 OLYMPIA REP POINTS OR 2 WYVER REP POINTS, respectively, HERE or HERE. THESA STATION
All refugees on the station are called to the hangar where a large-scale teleporter has been set up; everyone will be sent to the planet together. Simply step onto the space between the arrays and wait. Before they depart, all new refugees will be given a starter kit!
You may have heard about earlier technical difficulties, but don't worry. I promise everything is in perfect working order this time. I'd say I tested it myself, but since that's not exactly possible, you'll just have to trust me! (Please.) The older refugees will also be there to guide you to ensure no one is left confused... or behind. Make sure you wait for them — I've been detecting something odd so I'll be having them meet you at the landing site. Good luck, refugees! Not that you'll be needing it or anything... The arrays begin to hum and glow, quickly building into a brilliant wash of light. It creates a column that travels all the way from Thesa Station to the surface of El Nysa. With the night sky as a canvas, the beam can be seen all the way from Olympia and Wyver — a view that has the natives whispering of blessings. As a sudden but beautiful aurora splays across the sky, the refugees down on the planet receive a message asking them to travel to the landing site — and warning them to prepare for what may come of the strange readings Zasere's gotten from the teleport itself. ON A BEAM OF LIGHT ![]()
Traveling through the light leaves the impression of blinding starlight, a strange sense of weightlessness, and a disorienting moment of total sensory deprivation. The radiance of your teleport hangs bright in the sky above you, a shimmering aurora that reflects off the calm waters below, visible for miles all around.
You've landed on a peninsula to the east of the South Outpost. There's little here — scattered trees on spring-barren plains, with a few overgrown, dilapidated structures poking out of the brush. All is quiet save for the keening of animals and the gentle lapping of waves against the shore. This lonely desolation is hardly the bustling cities and vibrant cultures you were promised back on the station... BY CAMPFIRE'S GLOW. But waiting for you is a group of your predecessors, and with them, a veritable tent city, with portable stoves, coolers of food and drink, comfortable bedrolls, and cheerful rings of bonfires — all that you need to make merry of the night, courtesy of Overseer Voss, who has, thanks to his interest in blessed meteorological phenomena and refugees, decided to make a holy expedition of the affair. CLOSE ENCOUNTERS ![]()
Despite going off without hitch, the new refugees' arrival isn't entirely without incident. It seems that the "blessed" beam of light that brought the refugees down to El Nysa brought something else along with it — a sliver of the Storm. At least the beam was short enough that only a small fraction managed to squeeze through.
But it's enough to wreak a little havoc around the landing site and along the road back toward Olympia and Wyver — and even, for a few days, in the cities themselves. THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE. The Storm is an undeniably destructive force, and that's proven with this small sliver's effect as it ripples across the continent. While there's no visible sign of its presence, strange phenomena soon begin to appear, corresponding with Zasere's odd readings. DECISIONS, DECISIONS... ![]()
The time is coming to make a choice — perhaps not a permanent choice, but unless you want to spend the rest of your nights out under the stars, you'll need to pick which city you will initially spend your time in. On the horizon, you will see that people have arrived to help you make that decision...
A FORK IN THE ROAD. Refugees and the hyper-religious wishing to hear Voss speak are not the only ones out and about under the light of the aurora. Citizens of both Olympia and Wyver have flocked to a point on the road midway between the cities and where the refugees have appeared, and they all have the same goal in mind: convincing the newcomers who have just descended in the blessed light of Thesa to come to their city and not the other. You've chosen your path, refugee, but that doesn't necessarily make it a permanent one. Watch out for the strange effects of the Storm, which linger still in the two cities and everywhere in between for the next few days before dissipating just as mysteriously as they came, but otherwise enjoy the welcome and make yourself at home — after all, this is home now. FINAL OOC NOTES

[ gods, she has no idea how she would have gone on, were she unable to uncover the truth. to this day she would likely hope that he still lived somewhere, somehow, that he would one day return to her. losing loved ones is incredibly difficult, but even worse is being unable to find the closure you so badly need. having the chance to say goodbye.. meant all the difference.
at last louisoix fades into light, leaving behind the last remnants of his power for them to take, the selfsame energy that she used to build her phoenix-egi, through which her grandfather's strength and kindness still shines. he is gone, and with it, the memory begins to dissipate as well, and alisaie inhales deeply, brushing tears from the corners of her eyes. ]
no subject
You know...he's not gone, right? Not really.
[ He's not talking about stasis, either.
He dips down to press his lips to her skin, to relieve those tears from the corners of her eyes with gentle kisses. ]
no subject
I know.
[ she says, softly, closing her eyes beneath the gentle press of his kisses. it still aches to think of her grandsire, to remember him, but it is not an entirely unwelcome pain. her grief is all she has left to remember him by, and letting go of that pain feels.. wrong. she will miss him dearly until the end of days. but prompto is right. louisoix will always be with her, his blood in her veins, his aether settled into her own, his love in her heart. exhaling softly, she nudges her nose to his jaw. ]
I love you.
no subject
But he will always be with her, carrying his memory in her heart, and so even if they haven't met - even if they will likely never meet - Prompto still feels as if he knows him, as if they've spoken at length, about the fierce and wonderful girl his granddaughter has grown into. ]
I love you, too.
[ His grin, fond and warm, slants as he kisses the bridge of her nose. ]
no subject
but soon enough she tips up her chin to press a brief kiss to his mouth. ]
I suppose we should make camp.
no subject
[ Though he is loath to step away from her, because it is so nice to hold her like this, to be held by her like this, and just enjoy her presence in his arms. But it's not like they aren't just going to get snuggly in camp in like five mins anyway. They're so gross.
He steps away, but doesn't go far to...wherever the camping equipment is. Pulls a Coleman-brand tent out of hammerspace like in the good old days... ]
Heh...been awhile since we've been camping together, huh?
[ Not since they first came to the surface have they camped together, and...things were so very, very different then. ]
no subject
[ she had to set up his tent for him.. and they hadn't been sharing it, then. it seems so long ago. she's more than ready to take the weight off of her feet, however, so once hammertent is available she's all but throwing herself down, and rubbing at her sore knee. exercising it has been lovely, but boy it's uncomfortable. ]
Still afraid of mitelings in your bedroll?
no subject
So it's no surprise he's in a nostalgic mood, leaning his weight gently against her side. ]
Mm...not so much. The only thing I'm worried about biting me in my sleeping bag is cute Elezens.
[ 'EY ]
no subject
she grins, and wriggles in closer to him while she kicks off her boots, and smacks her foot at the tent flaps until they fall shut. and then her arms are flung over his shoulders, tugging him in, while she nibbles playfully at his ear. ]
I disagree, I don't think you are worried at all.
[ why are they so gross ]
no subject
His arms snake thoughtlessly around her waist, pressing her tight against him, nuzzling right up to her ear. ]
I guess "worried" isn't exactly the right word for it...
[ Because yeah, he ain't worried at all. ]
no subject
she hums, shivering pleasantly when he nuzzles to her ear, her arms tightening around his shoulders, her smile curving against his cheek. ]
That is more like it. You cannot fool me, I know you like it.
[ gross boy likes getting stepped on ]
no subject
Like it? Hm... [ He pretends to think for a long, considering moment, as if is response hasn't been clear this whole time, as if it were ever unclear. ]
You wanna make a case for that?
no subject
Aye, I might.
[ there's a noticeable curl in her voice, and alisaie moves her mouth over his own in a lazy kiss, then drags her teeth over his lower lip, gently at first, then a bit more firmly, biting into soft, tender flesh. ]
no subject
Hn...pretty convincing...
[ But from the way he clings to her, kisses her and breathes into her, he's willing to hear further arguments. ]
no subject
As if you need it.
[ she knows what you like, thirsty boy!! and so her mouth moves soon along his jaw, teeth scraping smooth skin, until she can nip hard at the space beneath his ear. ]
no subject
Not that he really minds being called out, with how good her warm mouth feel as her teeth glide along his jaw, and as she nips him behind the ear, his fingers tighten in her clothing reflexively, a rough gasp shivering out of him that is definitely too loud considering they're, you know, in a tent, surrounded by tented neighbors.
He seems to realize it, at least, a hand slapping over his mouth a moment later, a curling grin barely concealed beneath. ]
no subject
I suppose we should behave ourselves..
[ says the one with the public kink, but i mean, there's being overheard by absolute strangers, and then there's being overheard by people they know, so. ]
..unless you think you can keep quiet.
[ says she, of all people!! but look, prompto's the one making noise here. ]
no subject
Not that that means he's pulling away. His laughs breathlessly against her cheek, kissing her before whispering back: ]
Better keep it simple, stupid. [ ... ] K-I-S-S.
[ Remember a few minutes ago when she thought he was smooth? Well, no more. ]
no subject
anyway, she's mildly disappointed that he's turned down her offer to bang!! but it's for the best.. i guess!!!!! tfw you're kinkier than your man. ]
Call me that again, and you won't even be getting that much.
[ she teases...... menacingly. ]
no subject
I-it's just a saying! I'm not actually calling you stupid, stupid!
[ please don't make him sleep outside ]
no subject
...
[ these ellipses speak for themselves tbh. ]
no subject
...Iii mean, you're beautiful and I love youuuu, bae!
[ Can they get back to making out now!!! ]
no subject
Mm. Well, you've done a wonderful job of killing the mood, Prompto, I suppose I should be grateful.
[ said, so dryly!! but hey, now they don't have to worry about making embarrassing noises. ]
no subject
H-heh...happy to help! As...always...
[ He rolls onto his back, staring up at the roof of the tent and contemplating his place in the universe. ]
no subject
Sleep well, love.
