[ the only person who is probably not actually thinking too deeply on the cat is vane himself...

still, something tells him if this cat is capable of speaking, the reason for it ... doing its deed in rohan's shoe likely wasn't coincidence. a concept he keeps to himself, if just to keep rohan in relatively positive spirits (a task that is going awfully thus far). ] C'mon, it's just a cat. The little guy probably doesn't mean anything by it...

[ besides, vane enjoyed cats in general. but, he does his best to re-focus on their task. hence, he lifts his arm up to salute the cat. ] I wouldn't mind the wrestling, but we have a job, right? [ hence, he begins following suit, already beginning to push rohan's shoulders in the direction ... the cat dictates. ]

But, if you get tired, let me know! I can carry you easy! [ rohan too... ]

[ Don't carry him and Yoruichi at the same time. He doesn't want to be near that cat!! Being pushed just makes his mood sour, but he doesn't quite retaliate back at Vane. In some odd way, he actually likes the guy, even if he's also kind of annoying. ]

Didn't you hear it speak? It's no ordinary cat, and I know there's a reason it targeted me. [ Also, a reason it seems to be keeping its distance from Rohan, almost like it knows what he's capable of. HMM. Very adamantly: ] I'll find out.

[ He will carry out the mission, but he'll also search for the right opportunity to deliver his revenge. Hope Yoruichi likes having a hole stared into her back, courtesy of creepy cartoon villain Rohan-kun.

He was excited to explore the ruins before, but he's in a sour mood now, so he'll be spending most of the trek there doing just that. They'll arrive at the ruins soon enough, however... ]

[ As long as he's not doing anything weird back there, she honestly doesn't care if he's glaring daggers at her. If he wants to act like a baby all day, then he can go right ahead and do so.

Thankfully for them all, they reach the ruins without anyone dying, the real miracle of the day. Given Rohan's reluctance at being anywhere near Yoruichi, she'd opted to travel the distance by foot rather than hitch a ride with Vane, and so when she arrives, she leaps back up to a nearby boulder to address the two of them. ]

Now that we've arrived, I expect the two of you to get to work. I'll search around for any noteworthy landmarks and pass the information along.

[ Because she can't sketch the area with paws, obviously. ]

[ it's just like rohan to get this heated, he thinks. something he actually seems to take in stride for now. he isn't sure how a man can remain so angry at something so... cute, but vane decides not to question it too much. a wise decision considering the stakes (and rohan's crazy homie misery behavior). as the cat has stated, it'd be best for them to focus on exploration.

or more like vane should be more vigilant of their present backdrop, or else he's quick to lose sight of his intended path. ... aka, he gets lost. still, he seems excited at the prospect of being able to explore the area freely. ] So we just map out the area and let each other know if we find anything weird?

Was there anything we should be keeping out eyes peeled out for? [ but now that vane takes a look around, the ruins (esp. inside the cave) certainly were kinda weird, huh? he could definitely feel something. or maybe its just the nerves built up from exploring something totally new.

he wonders how much digging they'd need to do? ... either way, he's already beginning to... touch everything. ]

[ How dare this cat just waltz in and give him orders like this? He hasn't had to follow orders since he was a new mangaka, and the opinion of his editors still mattered in his career progression. He hates being undermined and disrespected, and if his hatred were a cake this would be another gallop of icing. ]

Vane! Why are you just following whatever that cat says? Nobody gave this cat the right to order us around. You really need to learn to think for yourself.

[ - and do what Rohan says instead, okay?

He's angry at Yoruichi but taking it out on Vane. That's happening. While Rohan does know how to be serious about his tasks, he'll need a bit of time to get over his hissy fit. aka give me another tag or two, ok ... ]

[ Don't be a rude-ass ho, Rohan. Who raised you this way?

As for Vane...well, he seems a bit simple-minded and far too genuine for his own good, but she'll take that over the screaming child throwing a tantrum. It's yet another reminder of why she'll never parent, at least for another century or two. She watches the both of them from her rocky perch, eyes narrowed and tail lashing back and forth. ]

Would you prefer to take the lead then? I was beginning to think that all you were capable of was whining.

[ And, as Vane is about to reach out to touch another strangely shaped rock, she snaps out: ]

Don't touch that so easily. It could be poisonous.

[ Who knows what weird plants might be growing in this area. ]

Hm? But, Mr. Cat over here seemed to be giving out pretty good advice?

[ especially, considering all the conflict that's cropped up so soon before departing. in reverse, it was kinda nice to focus on the task ahead of them for once, and yet... ] Besides, we're supposed to be working together, right? [ something he seems to stress with a brief tilt of his head.

but, as he's about to make contact with the plant, he hears yoruichi's chastising and instantly recoils from it. ]

Poisonous? I guess you're right. No matter how durable I am, poison seems a bit... [ he makes a strained expression as he finally begins to move onwards from that rockkun. only to awkwardly find his hand... rested on some other plant when he pulls away. ... ah,

he seems to stare it shocked, only to find... nothing happens. he lets out a huge sign of relief. ]

[ He still hates Yoruichi, and he will plot out a way to get his revenge, but for now he does acknowledge that they have a task to fulfill. A task that requires putting his grievances aside. He will get back at her, though. Some way or another, his time will come!

Big sigh. ] Don't touch anything at all, Vane. Need I remind you what happened last time?

[ Only, last time Vane got poisoned, it was kind of Rohan's fault. That's just a technicality though, don't focus on it. Rohan picks up his Nikon camera, angling it in front of the ruins. ]

I would prefer to have my picture-taking day in peace, without certain shitbags ruining it with their presence, but this is fine. At least I have a good angle.

[ He tried to calm down, but he's still mad. Rohan Kishibe does not simply 'calm down'. At least he's actually being useful right now? ]
