Who: Olivier (
wallofbriggs) and you!
What: April Catchall
When: the rest of April
Where: Theater district, a training room somewhere (Olympia or on the station for those typically in Wyver)
Warning(s): tbd
These Are the Days of Our Lives:
[Most days Olivier can be found working guard duty in the theater district. It's usually pretty quiet beyond the occasional pickpocket, issues with scalpers, or people loitering around making nuisances of themselves.
It's a good time to get to know her fellow guards or deal with the easier riff-raff since she's still dealing with a broken arm.]
Don't Stop Me Now:
[Being injured doesn't mean she's going to take it easy. If anything, an injury just means she's going to be tougher on herself - not like she got to take out any frustration on those responsible.
When she's not working, Olivier finds time to practice with her sword. She's used it lefthanded before, but it's not her dominant hand so she could definitely use more training. She won't say much to those who want to stand around and watch. Anyone who looks like they know what they are doing however will get an invitation to spar.]
Don't go easy on me.
A Night at the Opera:
[She's not one to usually accept outside perks from a job. The work and what she can learn from it are the most important things, as well as keeping herself busy. But, every now and then it shows good faith to accept the "thanks" of the community and who was she to pass up tickets to the theater? It worked as a gift she wouldn't buy herself.
There is the small issue of having two tickets, however and only being a single. It's possible she invited someone along. Or she may have just grabbed someone off the street who was well dressed enough to join her.]
You're not going to fall asleep are you? The show hasn't even started yet.
Hit me:

That's fine by me~
[She takes a high stance, holding her practice sword up to the side of her head with one hand, sliding her other hand down the blade.]
Wanna set out rules, or just play until someone cries uncle?

Olivier's lip curls at the thought but she's also ready to get out of the cast as soon as she can. It takes a moment to come up with a compromise she can live with.]
Let's make it competitive. Each hit counts as a point, a kill strike equals two. First to ten wins, unless someone gets a five-point lead and then it's over.
Operas
He was just going to show up in his nicest suit. Trim his unruly beard. Make himself presentable before he shows up. This time, there are no flowers for her. Instead, it's simply a small bottle of something nice for her to drink later.
But now, he sits in a seat that's too small for him, his legs crammed in the space. At least they aren't in front of anyone. He gives her a small sheepish smile. ]
It was a long journey to get here. But I'll try to pay attention. I hope it's a good story. They have a lot of operas where I'm from that tell really great stories. [ If it's anything like Wagner, he doesn't think he'll sleep through it at all. ]

She'd have to plan better next time and make sure and request accommodations to better suit his size. But then it had been free so...]
It should be interesting to see how they compare to those from home as well. The public seems to enjoy them well enough from what I've heard. There haven't been any riots after them at least.
no subject
Riots? They have riots over bad opera where you are from? That sounds exciting!
[ Reinhardt actually keeps his voice down a lot. He can be quiet when he wants. He doesn't want to bother others and besides, she's right there next to him. No need for his loudness. ]
I just hope it's not like the ones where the characters are dying for 4 hours. I don't like those much. I prefer the ones with the battles. Do you have favorites. I think you would like Brunhilde. She's an amazing warrior woman like you.
no subject
At home, no. I was warned there was a bad reaction once when someone thought it would be a good idea to perform a classic from Wyver without verifying the content first.
[She's sure he can imagine how well that went over.]
Knowing how things are between the two cities, this is probably a complete reversal and tells the story from Olympia's side. Lots of death, sacrifice, and heroism to stir the hearts of the citizenry.
no subject
[ With anyone else, that might have been a line, but for Reinhardt, he's just honestly trying to spin up an imaginary tale of her world where she had the same sort of good press as the Crusaders did in his. ]
I hope this is only half as exciting as those stories must be.
no subject
[That would be a no, but it's said with absolutely no trace of bitterness. She knows how important Fort Briggs was to the safety of Amestris.]
If he wakes up again, you can ask the Hero of Ishval how he enjoyed it.
no subject
[ And then there was Jack's statue. Maybe his world just needed visible heroes a bit more. ]
I might. But I'd rather just spend the time with you. Maybe they will have something like this in Wyver, so that I can invite you in return. See the other side of what is surely going to be an exciting tale.
no subject
As long as it's not in the middle of summer, I'll take you up on that.
no subject
It does get rather warm there. I might move down here once it's too hot for me. My home is on wheels, so I can go and live where I please. Maybe I'll be able to convince you to come back to Camperlot with me after this, for a nice drink or dinner or something.
no subject
Fine, color her curious.]
Let's call it an excuse to open the bottle of wine and you're on.

[ With that in his near future, Reinhardt settles in as best as he can to enjoy the show. He's likely far too into it, easily clinging to the story line. His heart goes out to the heroine and his excitement for the hero in his fight is palatable. He is definitely the sort that gets lost in a tale. ]

Once the opera is over and the lights come back up, she remains seated for the moment. No need to deal with the crowd trying to leave all at once.]
I suppose the basic formula is the same everywhere. A couple meets, something keeps them apart or tries to break them up, there's a fight, everyone dies. All while singing about the occasional dragon, magical item, or illness.
no subject
He smiles over to her. It's smart that they wait. He would be a problem in the crowd. He'd rather not step on anyone or run them over trying to get out. Even if he's excited to take her back to his camper for a nightcap. ]
It's nice to know that the more things change the more they stay the same. I won't be humming any of that music, but I think we should all be thankful for that. And I am thankful that you invited me. I really enjoyed the show.

You seem more the type for drinking songs in a bar. [Less a reminder of Alex and more Buccaneer this time.] Thank you for coming, the company was appreciated.
[Who knows what kind of annoyance she would have had to deal with otherwise.]
no subject
Drinking songs! Ja. You are right. I like them better. The Crusaders had many. Though I don't think any of them will be appropriate with wine. If you are still willing to come back to my house with me for a drink.
no subject
Regretting you asked? Because I rarely change my mind once a decision has been made.

[ He'll offer his arm so he can lead her. With his talk about his "house" and "parking", it's little wonder when he'll eventually lead them to the most eclectic amalgamation of house and steam powered vehicle. ]
Welcome to Camperlot, Major General.
no subject
Of course, when they reach this home of his she's both relieved that he's not actually living in a car, and completely confused because what the hell is that?]
It's not what I expected.
no subject
He won't even take her to the bedroom up a ladder in the back. That's too forward. Instead, he'll just nod to the overly large sofa and go to get that wine and the glasses.]
When I returned from the dead, I found this waiting for me back here. I think perhaps it was an apology of some sort. I know I shouldn't be accepting strange gifts, but with this, I can go where ever I want and never have to worry about where I'll sleep or what I'll be eating. I can be home no matter where I am. It's a kingdom for a traveling knight, ja?
no subject
[There were quite a few people who still needed to offer one.
And while she'll eventually get to the sofa, she can't help but peak around at rooms.]
You shouldn't get bored too soon with those books, as long as they aren't your least favorite style.
no subject
[ He'll pour her her glass and hand it over. ] And when I come back, I can actually sleep on a bed and not the floor as I have been all this time.
no subject
[Hadn't they both seen how easily it can turn into trouble in this place?
She takes the glass and raises it in salute.]
May this keep you out of as much trouble as it gets you into.
